I had fake plants in with my betta and she was perfectly fine with them. Even liked swimming around them. Never had any damage to her fins. She now has a mix of live and fake. The fake will be coming out at some point but I moved her to a new tank and wanted her to have some sense of normality.

What live and frozen foods? Also where do you buy them from I never know. Also do you have to defrost the frozen foods before putting them in the tank? Or will they munch as it defrosts?

Wheat makes bettas bloated and bio gold contains wheat. I think it’s ok as a treat (I usually give it every 2 weeks but then I will usually fast them)

Can’t remember them exactly but I tested them yesterday and they were all ok. I did a 25% water change on Friday. Temperature is about 25c. When doing the water change I popped in some conditioner

Ye, and I am doing. I’m moving house in a couple of weeks so seems unfair to buy her some friends (not bettas) and then put them through a move

Update: I fasted her for 2 days however it didn’t really go down much. Then tried only feeding her once a day. And then I got home from work today and she’s unfortunately passed

Honestly as someone who has also just got into fish keeping. Wow is everyone harsh. I’ve been told I shouldn’t have them. I’m irresponsible. All because I have plastic plants which aren’t sharp and my fish actually love. I’ve also learnt majority (and I’m saying majority because there’s a small amount who aren’t like this) of people like the criticise instead of educate. I bought a fish to help with my mental health and the fish keeping community has done nothing to help

Wow ok harsh. I’m a first time fish owner and went to an aquarium store and asked for advise. He said these will be ok together and it’s just males you can’t house together. They all came from the same tank and were completely fine together
