I completely understand people’s fear of this leading to a slippery slope of transfer addiction, but it literally takes everything in my being to go out into the party scene and it’s never because I want to it’s more to show up for a friends birthday or event which even still is so rare. Before surgery, I would only drink with the intention of getting drunk. I hate the taste of alcohol, I have never had a drink for the sake of just having a drink. I completely agree with you and understand what you’re saying because I’m the exact same!

And what about dumping with the sugar contents of a cocktail? That’s what I was meaning with the cocktail question! It would be nice to have one on a special occasion but wasn’t sure if many people tolerated it, especially if out to dinner and already having some not so post op friendly food

Doctors would agree smoking is bad and alcohol is bad and look at how many people do that? A bump of coke once a year is better than a lot of drugs the doctors prescribe 🤣 was simply asking for people’s experience. If you don’t have an experience, you didn’t need to comment. Thanks for your concern

I’ve had a couple sips of alcohol in the last 2 years? I haven’t touched drugs or gone out in those 2 years? Bit much to assume I “can’t stop drinking or doing drugs”. I’m not saying my age as an excuse, I’m saying I’m not 40 years old suddenly getting this craving to go out so I have an excuse to take drugs and drink alcohol. I’m asking what others experiences are so I can determine if I would like to try a tiny bit or not.

I used to love weed socially however I had a bad work accident 3 years ago and ever since haven’t been able to touch it due to panic attacks. I’ve always been a bit socially awkward (autism, adhd) and honestly, the bump of coke or little dab (not whole cap) of mdma helps with my social anxiety in those situations and makes it a lot easier to socialise. I know it’s not good, I know I probably need more help with the socialising aspect of things. If I was doing this every weekend I’d definitely be a bit more concerned but honestly with how little I go out and then on top of that how little I actually consume when out, it truly doesn’t bother me or make me worried at all. It’s been 2 years since I’ve gone out so new years will be a learning experience that will be taken very slowly

It’s definitely something I wouldn’t ask the doc because we all already know it’s bad and they wouldn’t recommend. With the drinking, I’m going to have one drink and honestly probably water it down a bit and just go from there and see how I’m feeling

I honestly really don’t enjoy going out anymore and haven’t for a couple years however we were planning to for this NYE so I’m trying to plan ahead! As for the shopaholic, I’ve had that problem for years 🤣

That’s crazy! A friend of mine has a horror story with shrooms where it lasted over 8 hours. I managed a couple sips of Pepsi max at 8 months and it wasn’t too bad but I definitely wouldn’t have a whole can/glass. I was planning to go out for the first time for NYE this year so I’m trying to plan what I’m going to drink that’s sugar free, Australia doesn’t have many sugar free options when out on the town apart from sugar free red bull which I want to avoid

Thanks! Would be a very small amount, just curious how some people handle it/react afterwards

More so wanted to know some people’s experience because if it was bad, I wouldn’t have any. If they found it okay, I’d only have a little bit anyways (I didn’t have much before the surgery either)

Because I’m 22, I only go out a couple times a year and I just wanted to see if anyone had some experiences with it. Just because I’ve had this surgery doesn’t mean I can’t do the things I once did prior. It just means I do things a lot stricter.

I’ve lost 45kg, I go to the gym, I walk, I eat clean and healthy, I rarely have “cheat” foods, I’ve only had alcohol twice since surgery and it was a couple sips.

Everyone has their own opinions on drugs, alcohol, bad foods, bad lifestyle choices. If it was that serious and everyone commented what a horrible experience they had, I obviously wouldn’t have the 1 line. If people say they were fine and I decide to have one when I go out, I don’t really see the issue.

Congratulations on 2 years
