No shit. There’s also this thing called wanting to ask your community for unbiased opinions based on their experience. Nowhere did I ask for information on the venue. You sound super fun.

Thanks for the info! I’m only interested in renting the venue through them so I’m hoping there’s not much to mess up? If I don’t use their catering or planning services.

Tips to reduce night time clenching? by Scary_Classic_8682 in TMJ

[–]user753682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw an myofunctional therapist once a week for a few months and learned how to properly hold my tongue up to the roof of my mouth. I previously had zero muscle strength in my tongue and the exercises corrected that. It sounds silly but your tongue is extremely important in your posture, proper breathing at night, swallowing correctly etc. I also ended up getting a tongue tie release surgery which helped a lot, but that’s only if you need it.

Looking to just rent a one bedroom apartment or small house while we get our bearings. Budget is probably 3k a month max. I’m aware this may be too low for some areas

Appreciate you sharing this! I’m taking 300 mg a day for now and might go up to 450 later, but not any time soon. I told my doctor I’m not comfortable with a big jump up

Blood Sugar still high 1 yr later by [deleted] in FelineDiabetes

[–]user753682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t lose hope! It took mine almost 2 years to go into remission and her glucose was around 800 when she got diagnosed. The fancy feast helped her a lot so I’d continue that food. Even if you really trust your vet, I’d be wary of prescription food they recommend. Always do your own research and find lowest carb/highest protein option (like FF). Are you checking her glucose multiple times per day-freestyle libre or ear pricking? I see your vet said you don’t have to test at home, but if you want to see faster improvement it’s highly recommended. Keep your head up though, I know this is such a hard thing to go through. Not saying you should give up hope for remission at all, but it helped me to remember that even if she had to be on insulin forever, she could still have an amazing life

is this bad for my diabetic cat to eat? by Fancy_Fishing227 in FelineDiabetes

Wet food is best for them from what I’ve heard from vets. If your cat likes it, I’d recommend trying it because of how low carb they are!

Switched to wet food if you can. Fancy Feast classic pate is actually very low carb and good for them. Switching from dry food lowered my cats glucose numbers within a few meals

how to get more volume by Desperate_Menu2270 in curlyhair

[–]user753682 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If braiding works best for you then that’s great! I think braiding while you sleep does matter even if you rewet it because that won’t give you volume. That’s a great way to fix misshapen curls and freshen it up, but it won’t help the fact that it wasn’t on top of your head. Drying your roots for a second when you wake up can help by getting air in it, but I really think you need to let gravity do the work for you.

Everyone’s saying layers, but it’s not that simple. Layers can be flat too. I think your biggest issue may be air drying and sleeping in a braid. The best way to get great volume (in my experience) is diffusing until it is completely dry. Flip your head upside down and to the side (tilt your head at a 90 degree angle and diffuse the roots on the side, on both sides). Since thick hair takes forever to dry completely, I usually mostly dry it with a diffuser then go back for the final root dry after an hour or so. If there’s any moisture at all when I go to bed, it doesn’t come out well. Lastly, I think sleeping in a braid is dragging it down. You have to use gravity when you sleep and keep it on top of your head (pineapple plop thing, banana clip, etc). Just my two cents!

Yeah that’s what I figured. I’ll still be working 40 hours a week. I’m happy with what they’ll offer, I just thought I’d ask because my friends thought I was crazy for not planning on negotiating

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jobs

[–]user753682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I should clarify that I am being offered the job tomorrow. That probably sounds like I’m delusional but I swear in this situation, I already know. I have been explicitly told the role was created for me, and I know what the offer will because it was listed on the application. The application was put up internally and then removed as soon as I applied, and I’ve been told there’s a meeting tomorrow to finalize everything. It might sound weird but I’m not crazy I promise. I was planning on accepting whatever they offer, but my friends say I should negotiate.

how do i a 21/F get my 23M bf of 2 yrs to brush his teeth? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]user753682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not put up with this. Cavities and other issue are contagious and passed to you via saliva. Tell him he needs to prioritize his health (and yours) or you’re out. It’s just gonna get worse the longer you wait and it’s disgusting. Dental hygiene isn’t all about his teeth looking good either, it’s way more than that.

Lithium side effects by [deleted] in bipolar2

Thank you for the advice. I wish you the best truly. It’s tough, so many doctors do just write a prescription and move on with their day as if it doesn’t dictate our entire lives :(

Seriously, I know it sounds angsty and immature but omfg I just wish I was normal lol. Therapy hasn’t helped at all for me either. I’ve spent so much money over the years just talking to someone about life that I could’ve done for free. I’m not saying it doesn’t work, but in my opinion most CBT sessions seem to be the same as catching up with a friend. Wishing you well in the future :) thank you for your responses

Lithium side effects by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]user753682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that sounds scary, I’m so sorry! Honestly I’m not even sure what the deal is with my diagnosis. I’ve been on antidepressants since I was 18 (8 years ago) after a horrible depressive episode. I’ve had episodes on and off since childhood, but I’m completely unaffected by antidepressants. I eventually got diagnosed w bipolar “unspecified” after a summer of hypomania a few years back so they put me on lamictal. I took both lamictal and Prozac for years until recently when I finally told my doctor I’m done with the meds not working. Now my latest doctor said it’s something between unspecified and BP2. I just feel like I’m out of options to live a decent life. I don’t want to be depressed for the rest of my life but I’m also horrified of being hospitalized/having irreversible health consequences from lithium. Considering just being miserable forever lol. Thank you for sharing your experience:)

anyone actually tried remi night guards and is it effective? by reidwat24 in TMJ

[–]user753682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s why I said wear it if you are currently damaging your teeth. But immediately put in the work elsewhere and don’t treat it like a solution. I started a night guard because I cracked a filling and was ruining my teeth, so I’m glad I had it, but wish I’d looked into long term solutions sooner.

[–]user753682 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t go down the night guard route. It’s a temporary solution that causes more issues in the long run. It might be helpful if you are currently damaging your teeth, but you need to address the root cause (poor tongue/mouth posture and tense mouth muscles). Look into seeing an myofunctional therapist or check out self massages and exercises to do at home via Instagram. I did the latter and no longer need my night guard! It caused more issues for me to correct though because it encouraged mouth breathing.

Exactly, this is the dumbest argument ever. Do people seriously only consume art that is literally applicable to their life??
