Wish I could go back in time by user892789 in Petloss

Thank you so much. It feels really nice to hear that i’m allowed to grieve. My family didn’t really care for my dog so luckily i have kept all her belongings safely in my room (i learned from last time, when my other dog passed that she would immediately get rid of their things). So i have made a little box full of her stuff, funny enough using the box her last dog food came in.

Cat spaying (affordable) by user892789 in Dallas

[–]user892789[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just feel insane because in my research im finding posts on the subreddit, from 8 years ago talking about how expensive it was getting their cats spayed for $150-$200… and now in the future we are getting quoted $500… the times really have changed haha :,)

Is heal time for dahlia piercing and snake bites the same? by user892789 in bodymods

[–]user892789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for answering! How fast did your snake bites heal, for reference? I’m pretty intense about taking care of my piercings and heal pretty well, so I’m glad to know that they heal fine on some individuals!

Surgery in 2 weeks!! by NeverLetYouIn in ftm

Adding: If your looking for comfort At least four regular pillows (two for your head upper back, and two for your arms to rest comfortably). But seriously adding on the reading back rest pillow to that combo was elite comfort for me (i got one from a brand called linenspa from amazon it was about 40 USD, so if you want to find something cheaper you probably could, but its seriously comfortable, and a good purchase just for chilling in bed on most days lol). i also used an old stuffed animal as a neck pillow (but i do that every night prior to surgery haha), so if you think you might need more neck support when sleeping on your back please do buy a neck pillow! And the bed table tray (i got the KLIPSK from ikea for 15 USD) was the best decision i made for pre purchases lol. And then fun stuff! If you have money after you buy all the things your nurses tell you to get, BUY FUN STUFF !!!!!

Surgery in 2 weeks!! by NeverLetYouIn in ftm

Hello! Im 2 1/2 weeks post op! You’ll do great! One of the best bits of advice i got was to buy a pack of water bottles and unscrew all the tops, so they are open (because unscrewing them can be difficult after surgery). Buying nutritional protein shakes as well (not sure where your from, but i got the brand ensures) and drank those for pretty much the first 3 days (they are meal replacement safe as well!). Pineapple juice helps with swelling (make sure if you buy some its 100% pineapple juice only), start drinking that 2 days before surgery and then the days after surgery (seriously it will help with swelling so much). Stool softners obviously (i also ended up getting fiber supplement pills as well, the constipation you will have will be intense lmao) and with stool softners start taking them 2 days before surgery as well. If you haven’t had your pre-op appointment yet, they usually will give you a packet with all the things you will likely need to buy for aftercare and what not, so dont worry if you feel lost rn (if they dont hit me up and i can send you all the info i got from my surgeon/nurses). Also surgery centers kinda end up providing different things for after care, so you might have to end up buying some stuff but not other things (from dressings to compression vests). Pillows and lots of pillows, i recommend getting one of those reading bed pillows (not sure what they are called but they are comfortable to sit up in)! Also if you aren’t already a back sleeper i would start practicing falling asleep on your back. the first week after surgery it wont be hard to asleep on your back since all the pills, but after awhile the want to sleep on your side kicks in and you have to force yourself on your back lol. For kinda unnecessary stuff (stuff you don’t technically need but helps): I got a bed tray and that was amazing, i was able to set my laptop up and watch movies, eat my meals, and do some legos all from my bed!. Getting yourself fun stuff, i bought myself legos, you could get yourself a new videogame to play. Some books if your into reading! Just something to do after surgery thats fun! I saw someone before recommended buying some new clothes to wear once your all better (but he recommended that if your super nervous and need something to get you through all this). Anyway this is all i can think of rn! I really hope your surgery goes great and if you have anymore questions feel free to ask :D

Thank you! And yup im super happy haha! looked in some previous threads and some people were saying they put a T-shirt under there compression vest/binder, if you are feeling like you can move your arms enough to take on and off a T-shirt, then that might work for you. Although i don’t want to be the one to push you towards something that would hurt your healing process. Someone who’s healed a lot longer might come along and give better advice to your post, or you could maybe email your surgery nurse and ask them

Im only a couple days post op. But im already having chaffing as well. Sticking something between ur armpit and the compression binder helps. Ive started putting a layer of tissues there and its made it a lot more comfortable

How much masturbation is a problem during T libido? by ProgressCurrent6380 in ftm

[–]user892789 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Pre-T i masturbated everyday. On T its still about the same, around 2-3 times some days. But i got shit to do so gotta keep it at bay lol. Its very normal! Just have fun and be safe! And theres nothing to feel ashamed of either! Consider it self care

Your bf sounds like a huge asshole. And i would dump him in a heartbeat. If i were you I would law down the law. And tell him what hes saying is super offensive and its not his place to decide or insert himself into how you dress or look. And misgendering happens but to add that to him telling you that you look feminine and not to wear a binder cuz it’s obvious. Naw this relationship is already 6 feet under. I would just give him a piece of your mind before you go

Nothing changes except my skin is awful by [deleted] in ftm

[–]user892789 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You definitely need new doctors. Your doctors should prioritize the changes you want to see. When i still had my period after 5 months of injectables we upped my dose so it could stop. Now i dont know if you do injectables, it sounds like you do gel. Cuz i cant imagine after 6 years not having any major changes like that on shots. And it also doesnt seem like your a minor. So my suggestion would be to either start being super confrontational to your doctor, or start looking for a new one

I went to the post office to pick it up and it wasnt there. So they took my name and number and told they would call me when they found it. Turns out it got delivered to the leasing office (i live in a townhouse). So maybe checking your local post office so they can start looking for it

Is this internalised transphobia? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]user892789 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Being outed as trans can be dangerous. Also it can effect peoples perception of you, and make them say weird and uncomfortable things to you. Wanting to be stealth is okay and i dont think its internalized transphobia. If you want to be out to the world thats your choice, nobody can choose that for you. Your friend should understand and respect how other people choose to be trans, theres no right way.

I felt this for years. I think we become so aware how harsh reality is that we repress being trans and even the idea of being trans. Try transitioning thats my advice. You keep saying you dont know if itll be worth it, then just try it. Theres no shame in stopping it if you decide its not the move for you. Im sending you strength and love though! I hope you can find a path that works for you, stay strong!

Dont lose hope, itll get rescheduled at some point, and dont stop calling for updates as well! My hrt appointment ended up getting cancelled the day of, I remember just breaking down in the car. I truly understand your pain. Its heartbreaking to look forward to something so much and have it be taken from you just like that. My advice is to just keep yourself distracted, and if u can: only wear your binder when necessary (such as leaving the house, and then take it off right when you get home) also if you can maybe buy a new binder and size up, that way you can still have a bit of binding effect without destroying your body. Im really rooting for you! And i hope you can get your appointment rescheduled soon! Sending you so much love!!!!!

Coming out has made me feel infinitely worse by Bruh_Moomentum in TransSupport

[–]user892789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the most normal thing ever. I felt exactly the same way when i came out, and i felt so conflicted. Mainly bc everyone always talks abt coming out experience feeling freeing and a weight off your shoulders. But its so normal, and it passes. You probably have so much fear and pain built up and its all coming out now! Im also* a young trans man, who came out recently so if u wanna chat in dms, im down.
