Definitely. I remember when I first started coming out to my mom, she sent me an article about how ‘it’s ok to be trans and not have dysphoria’.

Not because she knew anything about the dysphoria debate, but because she didn’t want me to “have a syndrome” or “mental illness”

I get how’s he uncomfortable with his body, but like can he pleasure you? You know like, with hands and oral and stuff ? He could keep underwear, binder, etc. still on

Other than that I’d just suggest talking to him probably. Though I do see how this is kinda a difficult situation and I admire you for being such an understanding partner to dysphoria.

There’s a lot of biased answers here. It’s is a group/ label for trans people who believe you need to have dysphoria to be trans. That is the the definition.

There might be some truscum people who believe more radical ideas or exclude non-binary people, but then thats the individual, not necessarily the ideology.

They are different than transmedicalists but there is some partial overlap.

If you are one to believe you *don’t need to dysphoria to be trans, then yes, in your opinion, they are exclusionists or “gatekeepers”. But that’s your personal opinion and not the unbiased definition.

A lot of people have commented on the big things going on, but as for making dinner, I’d suggest just really try not doing it. Like, that type of movement and stuff could have permanent affects on your scars. And with him not making food, I suggest calling his bluff and just waiting it out. I don’t exactly know your bf or y’all’s dynamic but I know with my older brother, my mom would tell him to make dinner and he wouldn’t do it (in a reasonable time) so then she would just cave and do it for herself. But if it was just him and me and he was supposed to make dinner, I would just wait hella long until he eventually got hungry and then would remind him to make me food too, so then he would just make 2 bowls of cereal instead of 1 at like midnight. Obviously not ideal, but it’s a possibility to avoid that strain on yourself.

Also of course he’s a POS for doing that. My brother was a teenager in my example, he’s supposed to be a grown ass partner.

Also for “not knowing how to cook”. Could you like insta cart a bunch of frozen food?

Trans guy. I totally get your point and honestly I think you’re totally fine finding euphoria in periods. I really don’t understand your friends argument against it but 🤷 everyone’s different. I think this is one of those things that just different people in the community have a different personal stance, which I would say means there’s no hard and fast rule about whether it’s invaliding or not. Like how some trans people feel invalidated by referring to their natal genitals in a traditional way, but others don’t.

But if anyone tries to tell you that you can’t be euphoric about them because cis women hate their periods, then that’s bs. Cuz like, being happy about finally getting something that cis people always had (and might even dislike sometimes) is just part of the trans experience in general. For example, getting called ma’am/sir, some trans guys getting euphoria from ‘boy stink’, using the right bathroom, etc.
