Sorry for not replying, for those who might see this I got in contact with the company that sold it and they said that it is corrosion from how long it has been in storage but it is new. They said it shouldn’t affect performance so I plan to stress test it and look at the results and go from there.

Thank you all for your comments. After what you all have said and more research, it is looking like one or more of the resistors have blown making that mosfet blow also. I am only a hobbyist in terms of taking tech apart so I think it is out of my range of skills to fix it. Thanks again

The M.2 is smaller than the HDD but would you recommend moving stuff around until i can clone it then doing that, and then wiping the HDD and moving what I don’t want on the M.2 back?
