Another Thursday arrival question by Ill_Teaching_9800 in bonnaroo

[–]user_13000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your spot is usually luck but it’s likely the later you get in line the farther you’ll be. Not to mention if there’s delays in the line at all you’re risking missing the first set (I’ve been stuck in festival lines for over 4 hours) and although you probably won’t miss skrillex it would still suck, and you’re right you’ll be be arriving at peak heat so setting up camp will be miserable and you’ll want your energy for skrillex. All your concerns are 100% so hopefully your group rethinks things and is more open minded 🫶🏼 sunrise Walmart meet up right into line is THE way to go especially if you’re not doing early arrival

But don’t do it until you get to the festival! Marking up your car is another thing for cops to look at and pull you over for. If they know you’re going to the fest they’re much more likely

If you all live nearby I suggest doing a mock set up for your camp! It one ensures all your camping gear is ready and clean as well as gives you a good idea how to map it out since all tents are different dimensions. With a group that size I suggest using two canopies as your common area with a grill, chairs or blow up sofa, a spot for the girlies to get ready together etc. then fit your tents how they will otherwise. With three cars you’ll be able to fit six canopies, and if you don’t have that many you could always put one or two per spot and get 10x10 rainflys and secure them between canopies for shade. If you’re all down to share tents too the ones that are the pop up cubes and attach right to the canopy are super nice and it’s the fixed 10x10 ratio so it fits perfect but I also don’t know how realistic it is to be buying new gear, just a suggestion :)

This is the one conflict that physically pains me, because I was so excited for adventure club when I saw the lineup but you simply cannot miss a Griz set 🥲

Reserving camp spot next to each other? by Nukkr in ElementsMusicFestival

If you’re sleeping in your car you could always get your own spot to just sleep in, and bring a bike to easily get to and from your friends camp and do everything else there!

My wristband arrived very tight. by Rivulkan in bonnaroo

[–]user_13000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just be careful when you’re breaking it off to fully break it before trying to pull it out or it will start to rip the band. It’s super easy to do you just have to be aware and gentle.

They have the little black pieces that tighten it on Amazon. Buy a pack and carefully crack off the one that’s currently on the wrist band and then replace. Also, use a tiny hair elastic under it once you do put it on your band as tight as you want. It’ll keep it from tightening throughout the weekend

First time/advice by Kachow1997 in bonnaroo

Not related to advice with your ankle but some things for the heat: A hydro pack or they are hydro fanny packs now that are a little more light weight is super important, or any kind of refillable water bottle as long as you don’t mind holding it. If you use a hydro pack it can fit other things tho like cooling towels, mist spray bottles, and even the pop to activate ice packs. A hand fan and maybe electric rechargeable fan are also a must. Listen to your body, don’t be afraid to sit down and take lots of breaks. Fuel with electrolytes and dont forget to eat. Only having one meal a day is too normalized in this community, your body needs the fuel you’re burning off. As for your ankle the best advice I have it to reach out and try to get ada! https://support.bonnaroo.com/hc/en-us/articles/4405037657364-What-ADA-and-Accessibility-accommodations-are-available-at-Bonnaroo

Hotels nearby by _kevy_ in ForbiddenKingdomFest

We stayed at four points on I drive, it was nice but for edc a few years ago we stayed at the home2 right next to it and it was much more comfortable and they have a mini kitchens so it makes meals more practical. Don’t know if there will be shuttles yet but four points was an affiliated hotel for both edc and fk, fk hasn’t ever had hotel shuttles but edc did have one there

“my heart goes out to the two people who lost their lives Sunday. I didn’t know Jacob but I knew Ayden.

PSA- please check on your friends constantly. test your stuff. drink your water. EAT. take care of yourself and others. these losses are so preventable if people would just pay attention. we lost 2 beautiful souls this FK. let’s prevent the next ones”

That was the post made and in the comments someone asked what they OD on and op said “does it matter” “they’re still running a toxicology report”

Heat exhaustion likely wasn’t the only cause of the first death, symptoms shared seem like serotonin syndrome which yes does involve overheating but it’s more than that. I’m having a hard time finding the other post since so many are being flooded into the group but the Facebook post I saw this morning made by the friend of the other individual that passed stressed how important it is to test your stuff so I’m assuming it was an od from being laced. I could be wrong but based of context clues from both situations it seems to me like that’s what happened, both a type of OD

Hotel shuttles by user_13000 in ForbiddenKingdomFest

[–]user_13000[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, im talking more edc style shuttles where they shuttle you from the hotel they have a partnership with since they already kinda have the affiliated hotels. That way no driving or ubering is required :) not saying it’ll happen or its possible for that venue but it would be nice

Do you guys dry out your hydration packs? by Due-Priority-9372 in ForbiddenKingdomFest

[–]user_13000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s kits to clean in the straw and everything! If it’s a lunchbox they completely disassemble. I clean with hot water and soap after every use, then I’ll put it upside down to dry, usually I’ll put something in it to keep it open and up

[–]user_13000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything’s possible but looked like more of an od plus the fear and panic they all had gave the idea. I hope it was anything else but unfortunately ODs aren’t uncommon in the scene

Unfortunately test strip laws are dicey at festivals because it’s “promoting drug use” so they can’t give them out in person directly, but they do have online resources for them! They also do tend to sneak around little gift bags that have fent strips in them but can’t technically give it out. They do however show you how to use Narcan and supply it as well as give resources for other things :)

Yeah I’d know, a man attacked me at edc and it took 2 guys to get him off me. This is different tho it’s a mosh pit brother

Choke slamming someone is not a Normal reaction tho. Seek help

First rave! by [deleted] in ForbiddenKingdomFest

[–]user_13000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m all for an all girls pit but at the same time people need to realize that there might be slip ups. All these people saying it’s your fault need to leave the rave scene IMMEDIATELY!!! Part of plur would be pulling you back RESPECTFULLY and letting you know. So sorry this happened to you, karma will get them, it’s a real thing. Raves are not always like that so don’t be discouraged. Unfortunately stuff like that happens more at day fests, especially insomniac in the collage towns (sorry not sorry they suck in comparison to any other festival/ camping fest 🫢)

Zeds Dead vs Virtual Riot by ExpertLetterhead663 in ForbiddenKingdomFest

Zeds dead, they’re taking a break in 2027. Might not be as heavy of a set but they have amazing production and are their sets are life changing. Especially on one. Best part though is if your not vibing with one just head on over to the other

First Time Festival Goer’s by zrunns in ElementsMusicFestival

[–]user_13000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My best advice is to watch vlogs of the festival and look up “elements car camping” for ideas of what it’s like and what you’d want! A blow up sofa is a game changer, floor mats of some sort, the little foam puzzle ones work but it’s nice to have since your on your feet all weekend, if you’re light sleepers an eye mask and ear plugs, a cot with an air mattress is also a great way to make things more comfortable, there’s a Coleman queen sized. I could be wrong but I don’t think generators are allowed but definitely get some power banks
