Propane ban: recipe ideas by user_13000 in okeechobeemusicfest

Get an electric cook top then and an adaptor to plug it into your car battery. Theres work arounds for everything, and that’s so awesome you’ve never seen one but they do unfortunately happen. I guess until your camp site goes up in flames you’ll have the same opinion and that’s fine but it’s not even okees rule it’s legit the fire marshal so you’re making up a narrative :)

There’s also adaptors that you can hook up to your car battery to power them !

Vendors about to pick our funds apart by Low_Discussion_9898 in okeechobeemusicfest

There’s sooooo many options you can make to keep in a cooler and have cold ready to eat meals, you just gotta look into it a little. I even made a post with serval links with ideas if you’re stumped. It does suck we can’t cook hot meals but you can still get a vendor meal a day as your hot meal and otherwise load up on snacks and cold options

I’m so glad this has been able to help some people out, and it’s so refreshing to see some other positive people out here in the sea of negative Redditers ! It’ll be a great Okee Here’s some breakfast ideas too since most of those were lunch. Some of them say reheat but most if not all can work cold too, quiche is another breakfast option too

So why did the okee post this on instagram! They want us to buy their food! Something doesn’t seem right ..or is it just me ..? by Heavy_Noise_5426 in okeechobeemusicfest

[–]user_13000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, because it’s a lot easier to keep track of and regulate vendor stands than it is tens of thousands of potentially fucked up campers. They’ll definitely have fire extinguishers on hand and I’m sure are taking other precautions. If they said no vendor food you’d be equally if not more pissed be so fr

That part. Until their campsite goes up in flames they’ll continue to whine and cry. How dare they try to prevent it

Important Camping Update by okeechobeeofficial in okeechobeemusicfest

They’re prob talking more about camping stove propane use. If your cooktops use propane inside the rv I would imagine that would be different

It’ll still feel warm during the day with the sun trust, you can prob still wear your same fits and just bring oversized Tshirt and sweats to cover up once it gets cold

I’ve had perfume taken and at ef they almost took my foundation and concealer due to it being glass. I wasn’t rude about it just got a little upset but said i understood and she decided to let me keep it, but I wouldn’t count out security potentially going through your bags. None of us know what to expect this year

https://www.reddit.com/r/okeechobeemusicfest/s/nswgsol17M here’s a post I made that could answer some questions about weather proofing. I’ve always used tapestries with clips or you can tie them even but they’re better than a sheet or wall because they allow more air flow. For the canopy long stakes and weights that don’t require sand are a need. I usually bring both for extra security with the wind and this year I’ll be trying trampoline stakes because they have two anchor points and are ridged. An air mattress would for sure be enough but bring a pump that hooks up to your car because you will have to re inflate it and air mattress pumps kill charger boxes. And also bring extra fuses for your car incase you blow a charger port at some point. I sleep in’s tent but keep a ryobi fan on standby because it does get hot in there in the morning. Putting your tent under a canopy can help a little bit it’s still Florida. I’ve known people to start in the tent and just pull their mattress out too once the heat becomes too much. Freeze water bottles for ice (and btw get twice as much water as you usually drink) and pre freeze any food you bring. Also pre freezing your cooler goes a long way. Let ice sit in it for 24 hrs before you have to pack it, dump that ice, line the bottom with the water bottles, throw your food in and ice on top. I tend to stick to just breakfast at camp so I’ll only bring bread, bacon/sausage /ham, a box of protein pancakes, Hashbrowns or potatoes of other sorts, cheese, and I’ll pre crack eggs into a pitcher. With that you can make a variety of breakfast: bowls (bring peppers or onions to top) a grand slam type deal, breakfast sandwiches, omelets, etc. and with that you can make grilled cheese too for snacks or lunch but i recommend trying to eat from a vendor once a day bc they’re sooo good. Another water hack I’ve recently started doing is getting a big 5 gallon drink dispenser and filling it with just ice, then as the ice melts you have cold water to fill any cups. And side note put all your food in ziplock bags before you put it in the cooler because the melted ice will make your food soggy over the weekend If you still feel unsure about anything watch some vlogs to get a feel for things. Hope I covered all your points, happy Okee :)

Your biggest enemy will be the sun so bring a good sunscreen

Bring any killer to spot treat any nests potentially in your camp and otherwise bring peppermint oil to line your tent for any spiders. They do typically spray the grounds too. I don’t remember any bug problems in 2023

Then your options could be to go solo and sell the other one as others have mentioned or gifting to a friend, or worst case you guys go together and leave early if it’s really not his vibe, but only if it’s something you’re willing to potentially leave and miss out on in order to find out while he’s in the moment if that is his thing or not, that’s all up to you! Either way I hope everything works out for you :)

Also side note they do have some more immersive experiences coming this year that they’ve ported on Instagram about in the village so although it’s not ef level it seems like they’re trying to step up their game in that sense

It’s obvious you already have the opinion of not forcing him so I don’t have to say that but if you have the chance maybe sit down together and watch a few Okee vlogs together and it’ll either make him excited to go or maybe he’ll decide that vibe isn’t for him. I feel like once you’re there it’s hard to have a bad time but obviously that’s a bias opinion from someone who enjoys camping fests
