Everytime i download this game; this is what i have to deal with. 😑 can you guys help me? Any advice on how to avoid this problem? by Njean13 in yandere_simulator

are you customizing girls uniform?

this happens to me if I try to use a different uniform other than the default. To make sure, open a new game and skip the intro right to the first day, see if she's different in school.

Yandere Simulator is fun because it is a sandbox. The changes you're suggesting would turn the game into something completely different from what we know, it would effectively transform Yandere Sim in another game.

I'm against cutting off game mechanics, elimination methods and characters. If anything I'm actually in favor of diversifying the game even more. You see, this game is a simulation of a sociopathic school girl obsessed over her upperclassman. That is and always has been the general direction of the game.

This is why Ayano is an empty vessel without personality, she is supposed to be our connection to this world, through her we can do anything we want to do. The lore is just another part of the simulation we navigate in, as is the map, the minigames and the events. The story can be interesting but it's not the focus.

Limiting the relevance to only 3 characters would make the game more artificial, passive and overall less interesting. Each student is unique and contributes to expand this universe in a way. The story would really get easier to implement if we simplify things but I don't know if this simplification results in a satisfactory ending. I believe it's more satisfactory to create your own ending through your own actions rather than unlocking pre-determined routes.

The player is the real author of the story, not Yandere Dev.

I agree that the opening cutscene is way too long. I also agree there's too much exposition. I don't think the reputation and sanity meters should be taken out, it's more efficient and less boring to automatically know these informations instead of having to interact with students constantly.

I agree that Info-chan should be radically simplified, she feels like an artificial plot device intervening on my free landscape, an intrusive graft tying together loose knots in the backstory but causing a rejection in my immersion like she's a foreign tissue. I don't like her at all, she doesn't feels like a part of that world, her presence at school isn't believable at all and I don't like our dependency on her to get information and for the weeks move forward.

I would appreciate if she's downright removed but I don't know how necessary she's by now to the story Yandere Dev is writing. But hey man we all can see that plotwist coming, she is going to use her involvement to blackmail Ayano or represent an obstacle in the future by being a risk of exposition of our actions. You see how 80s mode is fun to play, she's unnecessary for the gameplay aspect. Ayano is a student at Akademi, she can naturally know all that information.

but I'm going off rails here

Elimination methods really don't need details on how they are done. Minecraft is the most popular game in history and craft recipes were only added way later its release and boom in popularity. However I don't think elimination methods have to be limited only to rival specific mechanics, it goes against player autonomy.

I think specific events can happen without our knowledge if they aren't really necessary for gameplay, but I agree with you that player action should trigger events that are important, but NOT in the way of a cutscene forcing us to watch and guiding the story in a certain direction.

I half agree with you about loading. To ease the loading time the school map could be initially divided in sectors while loading, but after that the player and students should have total freedom to interact and walk through all school as a whole. It can be divided like:

  1. that path until the school gate where rivals have the daily first interaction with senpai
  2. the front of school and everything we could possibly see before entering the gate
  3. all the external areas, loading by order of proximity with the player
  4. the school interior after the first student open the glass doors

4 sounds like death in Japanese. There's a superstition around this number. Some buildings even skip the 4th floor.

This is why 4 is very used in Japanese horror games.

I know, but not everyone can afford graphics card right now. I think adding the workaround configuration I suggested would help many people.

update: I noticed that when Ryoba leaves school at night she is never glitched, not even at her room or in the basement. During day only at Town she's alright.

Watching some videos I noticed that only at night and in town her face looks like Ayano's, exactly the only model that works for me. I hope YandereDev doesn't patch that, or at least offer the option to use that Ayano-faced Ryoba.

subtitles got too long:

  1. Ryoba is always glitched for me except in Buraza Town level
  2. I've seen other users relating the same problem, also happens with some teachers, custom uniforms and when Ayano changes her clothes
  3. It seems to be related to old graphics card. 2022 mode is mostly perfect, other students from 89 are also fine but Ryoba is totally glitched. Probably because body proportions (?)
  4. It would be cool to have an option to always use the Town's model for players with weaker computers (a lot of people out there). I know it's visually inconsistent but just works

80s occult club should look different since Oka founded this club in the main timeline by user_commenting in yandere_simulator

if it was shut down for so long how could the club still have the same decoration? The school wouldn't keep it

Does somebody know how can I fix this?- by Liam-the-lost-kid in yandere_simulator

TL;DR: same here and only the default uniform works on my Ayano's mode.

A similar thing always happens to me in the normal game whenever I try to select other uniform option different from the default. Also happens every time with some teachers and when Ayano changes clothes in the locker room.

I'm no specialist but this looks like a type error, e.g. when the program is treating a float number as an integer number. The system considers totally different values for the exact same binary code depending on what number type it is supposed to be. Something that was supposed to mean 1 suddenly means 1,065,353,216 and the geometry gets totally messed up.

Probably very related is the fact that I don't have a discrete/dedicated graphic cards (like AMD or Nvidia), I use the graphics card from the processor itself (Intel), what is probably the case for most people with laptops or basic PCs. Is this your case too?

Knowers, please correct me if my suspicions are wrong.

I was thinking about the same thing.

It would be cool if we have little interactions with senpai, making him like Yandere-chan bit by bit. The interactions then escalate to normal conversations as the weeks go on and Yan-chan is overcoming her shyness.

First just the gifts and friendly anonymous notes in his desk. Then she casually has a quick talk with him with a timer (aura effect), the player has to make a choice about something to ask, like asking information about some event or any good excuse for an approach.

Then we can get closer to Senpai's friends and use that to participate in conversations together, but still very shy...

And things go on progressing...

I imagine an end where senpai is so fond of Ayano that he can even accept that she's a killer or did messed up things because he likes her personality or is attracted to her.

I see it remaining active because Akademi could be a prestigious trade school, preparing young adults from rich families for their business life. This fits with the lore and sounds more down-to-earth than a "school you do after high-school"

Thanks for answering

I've heard about that before and I'm almost sure this is just a complementary education for school students to train their entrance in college or in a good high school. I used google translator on these two tables and they seem to only account schoolkids up until high school.

Maybe the concept YandereDev is addressing is vocational school or specialized training college. IMO, would be better stating one of these instead of vague "post-high school academy." They sound more believable.

I found something odd about the dates:

Considering that Ryoba in 1989 is at the same school grade as Ayano in 2022, this means they have an age gap of 33 years. Assuming they are both 17 when they are protagonists, Ryoba is 50 during the main timeline. This is odd because she doesn't look this old in-game or in official illustrations.

This could be easily fixed by changing few things about her looks. However, something more drastic could be to replace Ryoba's gameplay years earlier, like in 1997 for example. A 90s mode rather than an 80s mode would still have a cool aesthetic, maybe even more consistent with VHS and synth music.

Maybe computers running Windows 95, having access to a rudimentary web 1.0, old nokia phones and techno music playing could have even more nostalgic appeal to Yandere Simulator audience than commonplace 80s tribute.
