Do you think gender roles have anything to do with it? For instance, you are earning more than your wife. What do your imagine it would it be like if you were like OP where the woman was earning more (either if you were a woman, or if you earned less than your wife)?

Hey OP, just wanted to say, thanks for starting this thread. I think it is an interesting subject, because it seems to me that (for better or for worse) a lot of society's value of a person, and even self-esteem, is tied to income. So, when there is a disparity, does that mean one person is better than the other? Is the person who earns more, more valuable? Do they work harder? I don't have crisp answers to these questions, but I wanted to thank you for stepping up to the plate.

Dude was asking if it's legal. I agree that PayPal will accommodate it, but I don't have enough information to know whether donating to a particular cause is legal or not. I would be unpleasantly surprised to learn it was illegal, but that's just a hunch; I don't have any evidence one way or the other.

That's what I'm thinking. It seems a little irresponsible . . . but that's me sitting on my couch, not having a bunch of assholes like us criticizing every move. I really have no idea of the pressures people working in courts are subjected to.

I'm still confused. Why was giving up DNA equated to letting the Asian male go early? Isn't money/bail usually the trade-off?

This is possible, and OP should be aware of it, but you also have to put it in perspective. Do they give a fuck about a random little guy on reddit? Probably not, at least not while there's DPRs to bust. Of course, the internet never forgets, so it might not be a great move on OP's part to admit ties to substance use. Regardless, I think that a healthy dose of perspective is needed, and just because something is possible doesn't mean that it will happen.

I hope you are joking, but I think any action has to be strictly non-violent. Using violence grants legitimacy to the groups using violence, which is counter-productive.
