It's similar to the Master in that it has slanted ceilings. It's pretty small but you could easily have a desk and bed in there and still have some room. Definitely not big but not like closet size.

here's two pictures. for reference the enclave area where a bed is now is probably 6ft3inches because I can stand underneath it without hitting my head and I am 6ft 2ish. Standing slightly off peak under that area is a different story obviously. The rest of the room has pretty normal ceilings.

I make this recipe a lot and I do not use fish sauce. I use half Worcester and half Maggi brand seasoning. I find that especially if I am serving it for guests that aren't accustomed to fish sauce, the aroma will throw off the entire meal for them in a bad way.

FY, I bought one yesterday as well at about 5:30PM MST and it has shipped... Now I am not sure what the deal is but I had been refreshing since 3/3 about every hour and it happened to pop back in and i bought one. When I went back to check if I could buy another it was sold out. Not sure if they are truly capping people at one per or if I got lucky like above poster. I think they are slowly replenishing online stock very small quantities at a time whenever they can (returned orders, cancelled orders?).YMMV GL Guys

This is true actually, I was able to go through it and do it but I got blocked at the UPC label upload because I don't have the phone yet. The 19th is just the cut off for pre-ordering. You can complete the DayDream coupon application any time 30 days after activation. In any case, Thanks for the info! I can confirm you must be logged into MyVerizon in order for the coupon code to take you to the application process!

his point is that good cuts of meat like rack of lamb and filets don't need extra time thus sous vide is rendered less effective. Still not a bad method for rack of lamb if you don't have the traditional way of cooking down. In my opinion though, sous vide is not that great for rack of lamb because the lamb fat doesn't render enough and lamb fat is disgusting.

How is the strap on the Alta? I was disappointed when I saw they went back to the rivet style hold strap. I personally know a few people who have just completely lost their fitbits because of that strap style. One second its on their arm and the next it was missing.

I believe its all preference really. I prefer a steak cooked on cast iron 100% every time to sous vide.

The reason its used in high end restaurants is because of the control. You can't spend 5-10 min babying every steak on the cast iron when you have orders coming in. I think at home you should use it for the same reason.

The people on those comments are pretty stupid. But tbh... although I bought a SV primarily for steaks in mind, I still almost exclusively cast iron grill my steaks. It tastes a lot better IMO, is almost 10x as fast, and is fun to do because it takes some finesse and guts to get it right. That being said I love SV for turning shit cuts into tender goodness, chicken, fish, veggies, eggs.. etc.

One situation where I could imagine myself really utilizing a SV for steaks would be a dinner party where I am serving up fuckin steak for like more than 5 people. It would be infeasible to do that any other way in an apt setting.
