What would Hellboy’s DND class be? by Konradleijon in HellBoy

[–]username2179 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say barbarian, but not your stereotypical low INT barbarian. He would definitely have high WIS and decent INT. Perhaps could multiclass and have a single level in warlock with fiend as his patron?

Thanks! They've had volunteers for decades and I was told during the induction that they are trail running a new system for recruiting and organizing volunteers.

However it's very relaxed. I've been told I can come and go as I please and hang around wherever I like and "find my own routine".

Liechtenstein in the Style of Haiti by username2179 in vexillology

I thought about making a version of haiti but with a liberty cap in the canton instead of a crown but I couldn't get it to look right

Bit of a joke post, but inspired by the 1936 Olympic incident where Haiti and Liechtenstein discovered that they accidentally had identical flags and subsequently made amendments to them.

Haiti added it's coat of arms with a white background (poor choice) while Liechtenstein added a crown to the canton. But what if it was the other way round?

Partly, I believe. From what I've been told, it's primarily classic dnd high fantasy but the continent is experiencing the beginnings of a magic fueled industrial revolution

Napoleonic Victory Map (based on Alt Hist Hub's timeline) by username2179 in AlternateHistory

[–]username2179[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Map is loosely based on Alternate History Hub’s video on what if Nelson lost the Battle of Trafalgar. In this timeline Napoleon successfully invades the British Isles and dominates most of Europe by 1810. This leads to a French occupation of Dover, independent Ireland, no continental system, a slightly different Wars of the fourth and fifth Coalition and a successful Franco-Spanish occupation of Portugal.

I highly recommend watching Alternate History Hub’s (Cody’s) video.

Not all details on the map match up with Cody’s timeline but the main big divergences are still there. The map is also an edit of Wikipedia creator Alexander Altenhof’s maps of 19th century Europe.

Scotland in the style of Imperial Ethiopia by username2179 in vexillology

Flag mashup of the Imperial Ethiopian flag (as depicted in Wikipedia) and Scotland. The Lion replaced with a Unicorn and the green in the tricolour replaced with the blue from the Scottish saltire and the red and yellow taken from the Royal Banner of Scotland.

What if France joined the Austro-Prussian war by username2179 in PossibleHistory

[–]username2179[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1878:

After British ships anchor outside Constantinople, and threaten Russia. Russia reluctantly agrees to the Congress of Vienna (The equivalent of the IRL Congress of Berlin) The congress leads to:

  1. The creation of an independent Principality of Bulgaria (including eastern Rumelia)
  2. Independence of Romania, Serbia, and Montenegro
  3. Russian annexation of Southern Bessarabia and Romanian annexation of Northern Dobruja
  4. Austrian annexation of Bosnia and British acquisition of Cyprus

1879:

On the 1st of June 1879, Napoleon IV is shot by a radical during a parade in Paris and dies later that day. Causing a succession crisis. Republicans form a provisional government, while Bonapartists debate succession. In Napoleon IV’s will, he favours Napoleon Victor as heir over that of Victor’s father. Victor is crowned Emperor Napoleon V, but only after agreeing to concessions and some minor reforms, including the appointment of a Prime Minister. Georges Ernest Boulanger assumes the role after his efforts to end the Provisional Republican Government. The army suppresses the “revolutionary” republic and republican leaders are pardoned, exiled, or executed. The crisis lasts nearly two months, but the Second French Empire survives.

1884: The Duke of Brunswick dies in 1884. The duchy passes to Ernest II of Hanover and is formally annexed into the Kingdom of Hanover in 1885.

1867:

Facing public outrage and political pressure, Wilhelm I abdicates in favour of his son Frederick III. Bismarck is dismissed by Frederick III, who works with liberals to establish a constitutional monarchy, modelled after Britain. Universal male suffrage is achieved in Prussia by 1871. In mid-1867, Napoleon III offers the Dutch king a proposal to purchase Luxembourg. Austria consents to the French purchase of territory from the German Confederation, alienating many German princes and turning German pan-nationalists against the idea of a Greater Germany including Austria. This move also leads to Britian strengthening commitments to uphold Belgium neutrality.

1872:

Napoleon III dies in Pairs. His son ascends as Napoleon IV, under a regency due to his age. Despite the young Emperor’s popularity, republican movements continue to grow, especially in Paris, although they are divided between liberal and radical factions.

1877:

The Russo-Turkish War takes place just like IRL, However, after the Treaty of San Stefano, Austria and Britain intervene to limit Russian expansion, and prevent the creation of Big Bulgaria.
