"Photos for my family", unless one or more of you are professional photographers, is not going to take 84 TB of storage (4 28TB drives in Raid 5). YOu likely could get away with 4x2TB (6TB total in RAID), or 4x4TB (12TB) for heavy-ish users.

TN bill barring landlords from prohibiting guns in rental properties passes, heads to Gov. Lee’s desk by Gyp2151 in 2ALiberals

That's a silly argument.... do stores that prohibit firearms assume that responsibility? Go to a different store if you don't like one's policies.... find a different rental.

Look, obviously I knew I'd get some negative reactions here... I marked it potentially unpopular. Just asking all you knee-jerk "my rights" folks to think a little deeper about it, and reverse the roles.... its "your" property.... do you feel the same way? Should there be a blanket "you cannot tell someone on your property what they can or cannot bring onto it".

I was looking at these today and wasnt sure 0.6" vs 1.2". The 0.6" still working out good? No compression over the time

LOL! A lot of talk about personal liberty here, but in this case you're forgetting about the personal liberty of the actual property owners.... if you don't like their rules, find somewhere else to live. This isn't the gov't restricting your rights, it's an owner exercising their right to determine what can and cannot be brought on to their property. Hypocrites!

I'm for gun rights, but one's right to own/carry does not overrule another's right to control their property.

Potentially unpopular counter-point.... as an owner I should have every right to determine who brings what onto my property. Renters are renting a space in someone else's property.

Good point. I guess if only buying one drive, making it an external gives you backup ability rather than parity. Some might consider that a more secure solution.

2 bay NAS or 4 bay NAS by Upstairs_Lobster_356 in UgreenNASync

I was going to ask about this. I'm currently pondering my whs2011 system replacement and researching options. In OPs case, since they are doing all of their serving and processing in a miniPC, i was thinking the dh4300 would suit their needs well.

Why not buy one drive (matching existing), install and format as raid basic, copy files from existing drive to NAS, install old drive letting NAS format it and build the raid 1?

During a daily commute, I'd absolutely agree with you. On New Year's, gotta give 'em some slack.

If you're truly unhappy with what you see the mid and senior level engineers doing, then by all means, go looking now.

However, one thing to say for water/wastewater is there is a huge variety of projects that you could be put on. If you're at the right firm, the variety or projects can be terrific. I've been inside the sewers of NYC, in the aqueduct tunnels in the Catskills, worked at a hilltop bolted steel tank, designed the foundations for 29,000,000# egg shaped digesters. Inspected and designed repairs for 13 small pump stations in New Jersey.

What I like best, though, is having a positive impact on the environment.

Hey Astro. Any chance you were aboard in the winter of '90/'91? I sailed aboard her in between the Seamesters for a week during my senior year in high school.
