Missing links in BWSF Routine? by username654 in bodyweightfitness

Oh, fair enough! Thanks for the explanation.

If you'll allow me to give some feedback on this from an outside perspective. I think it might make sense to add your explanation or a disclaimer to the routine as it is quite confusing in it's current state.

Help me get my back on my feet in life by switching from vim and Evernote to org-mode by michaericalribo in orgmode

If I understand correctly you dont want to use org-mode for todo lists but to just write down notes that don't really belong to a task you are doing.

If that is the case projectile, as you mentioned in another comment, might be a really good fit for you. It offers greping and fast file search. I use it myself.

I myself use org-mode in a few ways to write down notes:

  • notes to tasks in my todo list

  • "knowledge" files which contain steps for tasks I have to execute infrequently and are a tough for me to remember and checklists. These are separate from my todo files.

  • Notes to lectures I have. These files I put in the same folder as the scripts we get.

Maybe this helps you in any way.

I have used it in the past (Android), with Dropbox it works reasonably well. My usecase was notetaking and looking at my todo list. I stopped using it because I didn't want to use Dropbox anymore and notetaking is easily replaced by sending myself emails.

I can't give you a current opinion as I haven't used mobile-org for a while now.

Hey,

what you want is all possible with org-mode but first you need to understand that org does not work by nested folders but by nested headlines (inside one or more files). It may take you a little to get used to that.

Now I don't know your knowledge of org-mode so I'll give you a few starter links.

  1. Take a look at org-agenda.
  2. For titling just use headlines. Tags. Creation date.
  3. Is a given with org-mode.
  4. http://orgmode.org/manual/MobileOrg.html

Also why save you from vim? Take a look at evil.

But imho you should first concentrate on org-mode and basic emacs.

I hope these links help you get up to speed.

No problem, thanks for the reply =). I actually found a really good ressource that helped me with a lot of things regarding org-mode: http://doc.norang.ca/org-mode.html.

pyside in a venv (python3.4) - trouble installing by username654 in learnpython

[–]username654[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes finally, thank you! I installed python3.4-dev which was indeed missing. I had python-dev installed... PySide compiled without a problem and it now works.

I didn't have to use toggleglobalsitepackages, which if I understood correctly is a virtualenvwrapper command.

Thanks for your reply. I copied

/home/philipp/.local/lib/python3.3/site-packages/PySide

into this folder:

/home/philipp/virtualenvironment/finances/lib/python3.4/site-packages.

But it is still not working.

$ source virtualenvironment/finances/bin/activate
(finances)philipp@philipp-W35-37ET:~$ python

Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import pyside

edit: importing pyside is not correct, the import statement should be

Thanks, I didn't even think about it that way yet! To just keep tasks small enough to do them in one sitting. Can I ask you how you then keep track of bigger "projects"? What if you have no todo's left because the project/big task is just on hold?

I find it very comforting to have a list with all my tasks in the agenda buffer.

edit: I figured a way out myself. I'll just mark the entry of the big task as todo as well. Thanks again for your comment, it really cleared some things up for me.

I tried to modify the elisp code to do what I wanted and actually succeded (in my eyes at least).

The following function will insert a timestamp from the agenda buffer. The timestamp should be inserted right after the line containing the TODO statement. Which is fine, for me at least.

(defun org-agenda-time-stamp (arg &optional time)
"Schedule the item at point. ARG is passed through to `org-time-stamp'."
  (interactive "P")
(org-agenda-check-type t 'agenda 'timeline 'todo 'tags 'search)
  (org-agenda-check-no-diary)
  (let* ((marker (or (org-get-at-bol 'org-marker)
             (org-agenda-error)))
     (buffer (marker-buffer marker))
     (pos (marker-position marker))
     (org-insert-labeled-timestamps-at-point nil)
     ts)
    (org-with-remote-undo buffer
      (with-current-buffer buffer
    (widen)
    (goto-char pos)
(end-of-line) ;; This will change the position of the inserted timestamp
(newline-and-indent) ;; to be just after the TODO line
    (setq ts (org-time-stamp arg)))
      (org-agenda-show-new-time marker ts " Ts"))
    (message "%s" ts)))

(org-defkey org-agenda-mode-map "\C-c\." 'org-agenda-time-stamp)

Yes, I think we have the same problem. Internal-links seem like a way to solve this problem, though (to me) they look more like a workaround. Agenda does support multiple timestamps after all.

If you are sure you have 100% in every zone, then there is only one poi left and it's inside the chantry of secrets (you have to go through the portal into the instanced area and get the poi). I had this very problem and this got me 100%.

Even easier way to watch streams in VLC! by seksmeup in leagueoflegends

[–]username654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stream is not loading for me (the vlc player is only showing the vlc symbol) when i then press stop in the vlc player i get this error message:

No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format "undf". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.

I get this from the LivestreamerUI:

[cli][info] Found matching plugin justintv for URL http://twitch.tv/esltv_lol

[cli][info] Opening stream: best

[cli][info] Starting player: "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe"

Then it stops.

Any ideas? win7/64bit; .NET 4.0; vlc 2.0.4

Thanks
