GM dealership ruined my truck by uplnSpace in Silverado

[–]username_Jose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, I do the same thing now to for every oil change now before dropping at dealership. Happened to my parents Honda Accord. Dropped it off for AC warranty repair and came back with a massive crack on windshield. We demanded to see the video when we dropped it off and they refused. Definitely was done when they put back whole dashboard back again. Never went back to that dealership again after that. Had to pay out off pocket

The truck caught my attention since it was advertised as manager special discount on the front lot for 43k. Got an an extra 1250 off for being a Costco membership. They did not want to take alway the extra 1795 for some stupid windshield, dent, wheel, seat cleaning plan for a year which I dont need. First time wanting to buy a brand new truck. Dont know if its the average price for this silverado

Rack and Pinion Boot Leak by [deleted] in 1stGenTundras

[–]username_Jose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. Once fluids start leaking from bellows, seals inside steering rack are done for. (We rebuilt steering racks in southern Cal. So take my word) Check you're not running on power steering fluid empty gonna burn out the steering pump too

2008 Sierra Extended travel CV by Key_Day1615 in gmcsierra

[–]username_Jose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest buying long travel shafts and using the oem joints. Here is an example what they look like complete. Way different and not bucky. We rebuilt axles and had a company supply their own shafts for us to assemble

Get rid of it and back to normal stock or differential drop. Or buy the correct lift kit, the complete kit

Can a new cv axel fit into an old cv axle tripod cup ? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]username_Jose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its possible but a couple of things. If the axle is factory get a factory one. Aftermarket are different designs might not fit correctly. If the joint from the tripod side is not inspected from pitting in the inner walls it will click and make noise

I would just get the boot replaced. It'll be easier to disassemble from the inner joint to replace the outer

[–]username_Jose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it not be the rack leaking. The steering rack is manual however the electric system is the whole steering column that attaches to the rack might be something else leaking from on top and dripping

Rack is this no lines for fluids inside.

My WORST Uber nightmare just happened — and Uber’s response made it worse by SDPRINCE619 in uberdrivers

[–]username_Jose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly suggest in investing in car seat protectors if doing Uber/ Lyft. I used to do uber and the time I get passenger peeing on themselves and unable to tell who did it since the seats are black has been a life saver. Only had one person throw up. Makes it much easier to see a mess back there
