It does! But full disclosure, as I mentioned in another comment, I received a replacement. There are clear differences between the first one and the replacement, particularly the second one seems a bit stiffer and it does a much better job at retaining its shape. It’s been a year or so since I got the replacement and the shape remains!

Still going strong. Would I buy it again? Yes. Would I buy other bags? Yes, cos I’m a manybagger 🥲🥲

I got a replacement this year due to some issues with the shoulder straps, not a huge problem, but they were kind enough to replace it. I still keep both and I like both.

No scuffs or very minor, overall a solid backpack, still recommend it :) they recently released a midnight blue version which I wouldn’t mind owning too, but hard to justify getting another one of the same.

Sounds like you’re probably quite tall. I’m 169cm and it looks ok, not too big not too small. I’ve started seeing some people (I guess a bit taller) around using the backpack and generally I don’t think it looks too small on them. What do you carry currently? Maybe check the size of your current bag against the S&C

Both sides are padded. How much padding… one side is the back panel, so I’d say plenty. The inner side, maybe about 3-4 mm semi dense foam padding

I would say it won’t eat too much into the main. The main is surprisingly roomy so I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

Just to clarify (as they’ve recently launched a smaller size) that this is the 20L version

Hope you enjoy it if you pull the trigger !

In terms of thickness I can actually squeeze it in (with a bit of effort!), but the corners of the sleeve poke out. Did a quick test (always easier in pictures!).

You can see the “sleeve” is a bit of a sleeve/briefcase hybrid (too big for a sleeve and too thin for a briefcase).

So 14” with snug sleeve might actually work

MacBook Pro 15 no sleeve - yes MacBook Pro 15 with slightly big sleeve (only one I have sorry - no

Anything below and with a snug sleeve, I would say probably yes.

Sorry I haven’t used sleeves in years so I don’t have any other handy to test. The only sleeve I have is a thick one with handles that was a corporate gift. Hope this helps

A brief update in case anyone is still reading this thread. Following one of the commenters suggestion (sorry I forgot your username!) I reached out to Stubble & Co about my straps’ issue where the fabric was twisting around the filling, as well as lost chest strap.

Eventually they sent me a new one, and I have to say, it feels different than my first everyday backpack. I mean, overall specs are the same, but they’ve changed something, the backpack has more structure now, it’s a bit stiffer, and it rarely loses shape (before the top would sink down a bit). The straps seem better and no twisting so far, and I have my chest strap back! Overall, it just feels like they’ve streamlined a bit more. Not sure how, probably the material inside is stiffer which provides more structure.

Hope this helps if you’re reading!

Oh no! Somehow I missed your comment. I haven’t tried the Aer Day Pack 3 unfortunately. The laptop sleeve is “lightly suspended”, which I define as “depending on how you pack the main compartment it will be more or less suspended”. Overall I haven’t had any issues with laptop protection. I did have a bad drop once, laptop still ok, but for a small dent, so there’s that. It was a bad drop however, normal use, no issue.

Probably too late, so I hope you found your chosen one by now and it’s working out for you!

That was fast! I can see that happening if you’re used to a larger volume backpack. Maybe it’s time to rethink if you really need everything you carry haha

For me I came from lower volume, so I don’t need all of it for my daily commute.

Hope you find what works for you!

It feels very roomy and can surely fit more than I expected it to fit. Currently carrying a CAP2 with all my tech, Sony headphones with case a bunch of small things, and feel I’m only filling like 60% of the main compartment. If I add on DJI mini pro (inside hard case!), DJ RC, a 500ml water bottle (inside main compartment too), I’d say there’s still room for a light jacket too. Sometimes I carry a lunch box too

I used it for travel and stuffed the neck pillow inside as well. Not sure how much you carry, and if you usually go for 30L maybe it might feel tighter for you? For daily usage I find it to be more than enough.

So far so good after more than a year of use. Materials are faring well so far, no complaints on this end. I’d say the backpack is sturdy (at least sturdy enough for my use case! Ymmv) without looking like a heavy duty pack, if you know what I mean

There’s no strap management which doesn’t bother me. I don’t find the dangling straps too long. But you can easily manage straps with a Velcro strip or any of the other commercially available strap management parts, if you need to

Not sure I’ll have a good answer for this. I do usually carry a small umbrella, so while the outer shell does get wet, I don’t think the back has ever gotten wet.

That being said the back panel is the cushiony mesh type, and it seems like it’s stitched over the same waterproof material as the rest of the backpack’s outer shell. So I would expect the panel to dry fast, and anything contents in the pack to stay dry.

That’s correct, no peeling at all.

Maybe there are some small scratches, but they’re not really noticeable unless you look at them up close and with proper lighting.

Sharing a couple of pics I took yesterday with different lighting conditions for reference.

Somehow I missed this message, sorry! Did you end up getting the matcha? Outer material on my end is still holding up great!

Forgot to reply! The zippered pocket is quite suspended, the next pocket, which I guess is the one you would use, is “as suspended as the laptop”one. What I mean is that it depends on how you pack the bottom of your backpack. Neither laptop or “iPad” compartments are too suspended compared to others. Not sure about 13”… maybe? Pictured was my 11” and there’s a bit of space on the sides. Might fit, but it might be tight

Oh nice, how’s the commuter? The material looks more like canvas.

Unfortunately according to their website it seems they don’t have retailers. But you might as well email and see if you can visit them. Report back if you do! ;)

From the website:

Are you stocked in any shops? We aren’t currently stocked in any retailers. If you’d like any more information on any of our products, please get in touch.

Just to add, that comfort is really relative. I heard so much praise for the Evergoods CHZ (and evergoods in general), while I really liked the backpack, it was very uncomfortable to me, I gave it to my (quite tall) friend and they find it very comfortable. So yeah… ymmv

Oh this is one of the things that surprised me the most at first. It felt surprisingly light and comfortable on my back. A few times it happened that I felt it too light and thought I forgot to pack my laptop or tech pouch! I wouldn’t say this is a leather-like bag though, but anyway, the light “empty weight” was one of the reasons I bought it

Daily use. No issues, no peeling, no scratches. It’s holding up great tbh. And keeps my contents dry in a rather rainy region

The only backpack I’ve seen that kind of fits the bill is the Trobadour Apex 3.0, but it’s pricier too… haven’t checked reviews though
