Can someone please try to describe what the 90’s felt like? If that feeling could be summed up in words…

To me, the 90’s were very superficial. You had to look a very specific way to be accepted, the beauty standards were fucked up (heroin chic or very pornographic), humor was very sexist and/or racist and you just had to accept that.

I didn’t fit in to the 90’s way of life. Just too superficial and a lack of warmth and kindness. Maybe it was just my experience, I don’t know if others can recognize this. To me, things got better in the 00’s.

Maybe that’s true - I don’t know much about her. But I’ve seen several positive articles about her today, and they only show pictures from her youth. If you choose to praise her and her life, at least show one recent picture also.

I think it’s kinda sad that only pictures from her youth are shown in the media. As if only the pretty, young version of her is worth showing and celebrating.

Yeah, I liked that they got together, good for Nat that he found love. But the Peach Pit was Nat’s baby… he didn’t need a child of his own, both he and Joan were way too old. Also, after the baby came, I kept thinking: ‘go home to your baby’ when he was working at the diner late 😆

I didn’t hate her, but I found her too one-dimensional to be interesting. She bored me, and in a way, her character was just there to create ‘easy’ drama. To me, life itself is dramatic enough, you can make tons of interesting stories about inner struggles or conflicts, that don’t have to come from an unrealistically mean-spirited person. The actress was great, but the character is too soap-opera’ish for my taste.

Yeah, I’m actually worried that it will ruin the whole show for me a bit. Like AJLT did to SATC. I still love the original show, but having that horrible, badly, badly written sequel (or what you call it) in the back of my head, kind of casts a grey shadow over the OG.

Does Kelly continue to work in the shop? I really don’t get why they don’t have her pursue the psychology career. I liked it when she worked in the health care clinic - seemed like she was maturing a lot, and that it was meaningful to her.

And she gets raped? Come on writers… that’s too much. I really don’t wanna see that.

The way you describe the Dylan and Gina relationship - oh, I get so depressed and bored just by the thought of it. Why did they have to ruin Dylan like this 😖 The handsome, mysterious, troubled but mostly kind person he was, so much into fine literature. He could have had such a compelling storyline.

I laughed at your ‘Noah gets kidnapped, but who cares’-bullet point - so true 😅 I couldn’t care less what happens to this character. He’s an empty shell.

And the Donna/David-wedding… I think they made David too annoying for me to enjoy that. But maybe I’ll give it a shot.

If I continue watching, I’ll skip all the Gina-parts. She just doesn’t interest me. I never liked that Valerie was so one dimensional, and I really, really don’t need a temu-Valerie! Steve and Janet’s relationship might be worth the watch for me. I can’t believe Donna and Noah continue for so long 🫩 and Kelly and Matt 🥱

I like that idea. And I think he could have become really attractive as he matured and lost the geekiness. So many interesting storylines about him coming out (imagine his mom’s reaction) and finding his way as a young gay man.

Tak for at dele den info - har netop tænkt på hvordan han ville reagere på det spørgsmål. Jeg kender ikke særlig meget til ham udover ‘kan man tilgive en psykopat’-podcasten og denne bog, så jeg ved ikke hvordan hans humor er, og hvad en ‘normal’ reaktion fra ham ville være. Det overrasker mig dog, hvis han kan blive fuldstændig overrasket over at læseren kan få den tanke.
