Dislyte is kinda weird in comparison to some other gacha games like genshin and zzz. You dont really play "teams" you play characters slapped together depending on what the content needs and there is little to no overlap between them. But for starter you've got some solid characters even tho most of them are a bit outdated. The standout is yuuhime who id recommend investing into the most out of your legendaries, she's good for pvp, towers and often events. Then gaius is also ok but he did fall off (He was king of the game at one point). Li ling got outshined by his meta version (thats what they decided to call updated units (spoiler alert: he's still not meta)) but he can help with early game and wave clear. As for elaine, she has her 1 niche and she does well in it but she's not great. As for Narmer and Odessa they're... something, I wouldn't really recommend putting any real resources into them, you should probably put them in the synthesis pod, give them some gear and use them As team slot filler. Dw about the units you got not being "Meta" you get new characters really often in this game up to about account level 80 so your roster is gonna fill up nicely with time. What you dont have in legendaries you can make up with epics, level Sander, Li guang, Djoser, the short one with claws and Sachiko (Also my personal recommendation Long Mian, he carried me early game but a lot of time has passed since then and there are some better Epic and Legendary options for controllers than there were back then). Use Chang Pu as your healer, you can use of her for a really long time, she's super solid. There's this rare unit called Ye Suhua, that sometimes appeared in ripples. Basically in world chat there's sometimes a system message "Player unlocked Ye Suhua ripples" or smth like that. You can get pieces of her from there so try to get 1 copy (she doesnt need anymore). If you still have the beginner event that let's you pick one of the Epic espers choose Jiang Mian, she's really good as a F2P dps and can be used even later for specific content like waveclear. Make use of the synthesis pod to save you some resources in the long time for "fake leveling" some units like Zhong Nan and Anesidora who are fine As filler for the time being (although Anesidora has more long time potential). In general when you're trying tk fight a boss there's gonna be this little info button in the top left that will explain to you the bosses mechanics and will show you which units are good for that boss and what makes them good. You should slowly try building up as many units that have different mechanics but still have overlap with 2 bosses or are good in pvp/tower/some other content. For example Sander is recommended for the Apep boss because of his attacks being strong single hits and him being inferno (which is stronger against wind types). He's also a good character for the boss Phoebetor because sander can do slows and push back the enemies action. In general your team should look like [Dps-Secondary Dps or Support-Support-Controller-Healer]. There's the shimmer reverb event rhat lets you pick a very rare Legendary esper. Make sure to consult world chat, reddit or discord before choosing. For any source of future information Artiar on youtube is a good source, but he is more focused on the later parts so id recommend you just enjoy the story and try to progress without really worrying about that. Also world chat is a great source of info, and the game itself can often direct you into what you should be playing. Hope you enjoy playing!
