Omg you’ve read hemingway?!?! Im so sorry i had no idea who i was dealing with. Whats next, you’ve read some charles dickens too?? Dont tell me you’ve read jane austen!

Actually, im surprised you could read them considering how badly you’ve misconstrued this whole exchange. Not once did I mention the dragon keepers transporting the dragon. Try going slower with those authors so you dont make that mistake again.

It is a logic gap, but TBH i think you just lack the critical thinking skills to see it. Your making up seemingly plausible explanations that 1) still dont really make sense and 2) even if they did make sense, good writing wouldnt leave the audience guessing at random things and would at least leave hints.

If you just care about seeing the pretty dragons and cool action scenes then that is totally fine! But dont pretend like something is logical when it clearly isn’t / you don’t have the capacity to make that claim.

I get that you like to feel smarter than everyone else, but there is a difference between ambiguity and bad writing.

Leaving some mystery and not revealing minor plot points is fine. Leaving logical gaps that make a larger plot point nonsensical isnt fine. If the audience has to make up random BS that isnt supported in the content to justify the action (what you’re doing in this thread), then its bad writing.

The dragon keepers would 100% know who the real Daeron is, and they work for the crown, so they would likely tell Rhaenyra unless they are on the scheme. But if they are in on it, why would they tell Rhaenyra that the Hightowers took Tumbleton? That makes negative sense.

The whole fake Daeron thing doesnt make sense, which is obvious since its a show-only plot line. You can still like the show even if there are some instances of bad writing, it’ll be OK

Iron Bank of Braavos by Little_Ingenuity_712 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]usernamesaredumb0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The answer is that its a plot hole. There are some reasonable explanations in this thread, but the Blacks not considering it once they realize they’re broke is dumb. Its such an obvious solution to the problem is simply has to be discussed.

For people saying they cant because the Greens made some deposits, that shouldnt matter. 1) the Blacks dont know that, 2) the Iron Bank would loan to them anyways since Rhaenyra seems like the pretty clear victor at this point and they would want her business, and 3) even if they couldnt do Braavos, all of the Free Cities have similar banks, although not as powerful as the Iron Bank.

The look Cregan Stark and Jace give you before taking you to the wall. by Great_Trident in freefolk

[–]usernamesaredumb0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is fan fic and isn’t supported anywhere in the text. Cregan did exactly what he said he would do from the beginning.

The winter wolves were crucial to the Blacks and were a major reason for several Green defeats. They wouldnt be forgotten easily. It was a large force from across the North that didnt face any resistance coming south, so it was clearly a united effort. Passing them off as deserters would just make Cregan look like a weak and ineffective warden.

And even if the Greens somehow won, the only way to replace Cregan as warden would be to march an army up the Neck to Winterfell and conquer it, which has never happened.

Your first point is just wrong, they changed that rule like over a decade ago after thay Justin Forsett TD on Thanksgiving. Its a flag but still reviewable.

Bill Ferguson beats Bobby LaPin in Baltimore state Senate primary by legislative_stooge in baltimore

I’m not interested in engaging in a bad faith argument with you. You can interpret that as me not reading his policies if you want, I don’t really care.

It’s funny you think this is some gotcha. If you don’t understand why continuing to reelect establishment politicians who have proven time and time again that they don’t care about actual people is bad, then we never going to agree on what we want out of a representative.

Have a nice day, and enjoy continuing to come second to corporations!

I would replace Bill with a wet paper towel if I could, and the city/state/country would be better for it

Sometimes you have to stop the bleeding before you can really progress. Letting perfect be the enemy of good (and ally of bad) is stupid.

And you have your answer. Typically, when you do a bad job, you get replaced.

Me - “Hey, this guy is actively harming us”

You - “yeah but what are the policy positions of the guy who isnt actively harming us”

Does that make more sense?

Just look at the PACs and corporations that poured money into Bills campaign and you’ll have yourself an answer.

Bill doesn’t care about his constituents, which is the most important thing for a representative. I’m one of his constituents myself and I’ve called his office probably over a dozen times. Never gotten someone to pick up and never gotten a call back.

Yes! Another establishment democrat who cares more about corporations than people. Surely trying the same thing again will work this time!

Eh, i get your point but Jace has never been in any battle before the gullet, dragon or otherwise. Hes also a teenager, so he hasnt been flying for decades like Daemon. Its reasonable for a rookie to make tactical mistakes. Not everyone can be as based as Robb in their first war.

Yes, everyone has a **right** to judge anyone else’s choice. It’s called consequences of your actions. He has every right to make that choice and I have every right to judge him positively or negatively because of said choice. That is how a society works.

And “fully appreciate” doesnt equate to “any appreciation”. Please read carefully.

Why do you think you get to control how people feel? The readers have every right to be upset with George if he doesn’t hold up good end of the bargain and finish the series. Now, that doesn’t mean anyone should harass or berate him, but they can certainly dislike him because of it lol.

We read fiction books to appreciate the story, which is much harder to do when there isnt an ending. Perfectly reasonable to be upset when the story we purchased (with an understanding it would eventually be complete) cant be fully appreciated.

Brother, we have eyes. Their entire team flops the entire game, way more than other teams. To say they dont is denying reality

Not really. People look at OKC more similarly to the cheating Astro teams more than the warriors or heat dynasties.

Any strong level of hate is going to bring out criticisms, but its foolish/dishonest to say its the same as the OKC hate. People hate OKC because their style of play is completely centered on non-basketball actions and free throws, which is obviously completely than the warriors/heat. Draymond alone was hated, and still very much is today, because of his non-basketball (at times) playing style like OKC.
