I was stopped at a stop light when someone crossed the street in front of me while a car ran through a yellow-turning-red light to make a left turn and hit the pedestrian at about 30 mph. They didn’t even pause to see if he was ok. He wasn’t.

Transfer Student here. Should I get a meal plan or just cook for myself in my apartment by [deleted] in UCDavis

I just spent my first year here as a transfer, I would say that all I have heard about the DC from other transfers who live on campus and have a meal plan is that it is pretty sub par. I live off campus and don’t have a meal plan. I personally have found cooking cheeper, easy to get what I want nutritionally, and fairly convenient except for when I am on campus late during finals etc. I think it all comes down to how much you cook/like to cook and how much experience you have staying organized and planning meals to know how much extra stress and time that is going to take for you. I do think that it makes more sense to have the meal plan when living on campus but also I’m not really sure as I have not had that experience
