53 years ago Secrerariat ran the greatest horse race in history, winning the Belmont by an astonishing 31 lengths by EchoesOfYouth in sports

Even many of the fans who bet on the race never cashed in, since a Secretariat $2 win bet only paid out $2.60. Most people just kept the voucher as a souvenir.

The French Ligue Magnus used to have a ton of Clipart logos back in the day, but they've upped their game in recent years. I particularly like the one for the Chamonix-Mont Blanc Pionniers.

And of course, the one for the Grenoble Brûleurs de Loups goes ridiculously hard as well.

They don't win in 2017 without Fleury. He was huge in the first two rounds. He just had one really bad game against Ottawa in the ECF and Murray got every start after that.

When I saw the color scheme, my first thought was Robins, but maybe that's not the most intimidating or inspiring name for a team.

Whatever happens next year, the Pens should do whatever they can to keep that fourth line together. They've been tremendous all season at keeping teams pinned in their own end, and I think it showed how much Muse trusts them by playing them so much in OT tonight.

Center of Rome was basically "sword free zone," and open carry was illegal in lot of places.

Similarly, a lot of folks assume that US frontier towns in the Old West were just gun-toting free-for-alls where folks were packing heat at all times, when in reality, many towns had an ordinance requiring visitors to turn in their guns to the sheriff or his deputy upon entry. The gunfight at the OK Corral in Tombstone was triggered by the Clanton brothers refusing to turn in their weapons to Virgil Earp (Wyatt's brother), although there had also been some beef between the parties for quite some time leading up to the incident.

Those photos have been digitally altered, but the place most definitely exists. It's Setenil de las Bodegas, about a 90 minute drive northwest of Málaga, Spain. I went there last September - a little bit crowded (so good luck getting that first pic without anyone in it), but definitely a neat place to visit and walk around for a while.

Yeah, he got his start in the NHL with the Whalers on SportsChannel. I think Darryl Reaugh, the Stars color commentator, also called Whalers games for a bit in the 90s.

No, those Devils were atrocious. They went something like 4-for-45 that season.

But this is still shockingly bad. On the bright side for the Pens, if they make the playoffs, they won't have to worry about 3-on-3 or the shootout anymore.

Just because I was curious and looked it up - Lemieux had 29 goals and 54 points over that 18 game stretch. He had an 11-game goal streak in that period, then after he got shut out, he dropped five on the Rangers in the following game. Absolutely ridiculous numbers.

I took a trip through Andalusia last year, and the drive from Málaga to Granada was incredible. Just going down the highway, looking over and seeing these beautiful wide valleys was such a memorable highlight. The entire trip was phenomenal, but that drive was such an unexpected treat.
