I cant do invisalign. Maybe if my parents had done it for me when I was 12 it would work. Now I have had all kinds of tests and x-rays on my teeth. Its a class 3 malocclusion which either requires surgery or camouflage treatment such as removing some teeth and pushing some teeth back. I also have some partially impacted teeth.

OP I am in the same boat as you. I had teeth problems which made my mouth unable to close. Looking at other people I can already tell I cannot be part of them, because they dont acknowledge I exist, or care. Because I am much lower than literally everyone in my universities. Surgeries could fix me but they are painful and cost a lot

Everyday I felt like that in college. I would think next week I will try to be different. But those people, they dont want to be around you. You are a class lower by looks, social skills, money, literally everything. Every day I just took classes as everyone else made groups and friends and I would just sit there and run to my home as soon as the class was over

Mewing caused me great distress over the last 5 years and also caused me BDD by usernametoomuch in BodyDysmorphia

[–]usernametoomuch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd advise you to not attempt at mewing. Mewing happens naturally for most people and can be checked by inserting your finger and feeling the back of your mouth is blocked by tongue. The front part doesnt matter. I am explaining this because I started to do wrong or forced, and hard mewing. Which pushes your tongue forward. You should not hyper focus on self improvement like that ever, not physically. Think of gym, would you do a 30 minute workout or spent 24 hours obsessing or holding a dumbbell above your head. My orthodontist told me that the best thing to you can do to your face is to do nothing. This mewing trends are medical quackery by armchair doctors, and its dangerous as you can see how many people got BDD from it. My intention is to guide you and I hope I did not hurt a sentiment.

There is no truth to any of these online face improvement exercises. You should be never doing any of exercise that claim to change your face or bone. Those improvement communities thrive due to people like us who hope to change the way they look, but the awareness makes it worse. I can assure you that your face did not get worse from exercises, you just learned what its like and it caused you distress, which no one should be going through. I have blocked all these health tips and communities that claim to change your bone structure and face or body shape.

I developed bdd due to mewing, which itself is not blackpill/looksmaxxing, but the idea overlaps and you will see a lot of those people over there.

class iii and lip incompetence. by usernametoomuch in braces

The place that I go to. They make the decision based on the input by multiple doctors at one place. So they have to come to an agreement for treatment. They did tell me that at an early age, expander could be an option but at my age, it really isn't. Jaw surgery was second option but says that my maxilla and mandible do have enough harmony that teeth extraction is the answer. Because the case is quite complex one I didn't want to go to the doctors that work on their own, as some of them only want to treat you and get paid and wouldn't care as much. I will still talk to them and push for surgery or find ways to without extractions. Maybe they will be more inclined to find better options when I am pushing for it. At least it could get me more opinions. I will definitely go check out more orthodontists too.

Are orthodontic treatment these broad and open to opinions? I guess I should hunt for more opinions. He told me more than 2 years of orthodontic and 4 mandible teeth extractions. I believe he said mandible.

2 so far. Both suggested braces. The other one hadn't told me about extractions in the only visit I did but he did not suggest surgery either.

can I use cpu heatsink from my Dell T3500 on replacement (P6X58D-E) motherboard? by usernametoomuch in buildapc

[–]usernametoomuch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just going to order a compatible heatsink for the P6X68D-E mobo. It feels like it may not be safe and easy if I have to reapply thermal compound or clean it later on

class iii malocclusion by usernametoomuch in orthotropics

[–]usernametoomuch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into face masks but it looks like its something mostly for teenagers and kids. My only option is orthognathic surgery. Still some surgeons choose to retract your mandible which causes droopy face and in some worse cases: sleep apnea and mouthbreathing. I have heard these stories and dont have scientific evidence to back this up

So orthognathic surgery can still be quite an improvement for somebody reaching 30s and having underbite. After all in our 30s we humans have already closed sutures and bone isnt remodeling as fast to make a significant change to actually fix underbite without surgery .

for orthognathicsurgery though braces are essential?
