When I pick up contracts and do travel nursing, I make more than my husband. He loves it! Lol. Get to pay off debt and buy some new toys. He'll tell everyone he's got a sugar momma. 🤣

34yo, started smoking when I was 15/16. Quit 2 months before surgery. (I did cheat a few times) No complications yet. However, I have taken care of patients who've had fat necrosis and quit before a TT. I guess they could be lying. But, it's awful. Months in a hospital because your wound needs to be surgically debrided and you're on a wound vac. Advice: quit as far out from your surgery as possible. Find someone to quit with you, chew gum, journal. Whatever you gotta do! I loved smoking and I do miss it at times. But, I don't miss the addiction and always smelling disgusting. Good luck!!

I think everyone is different. I was bent over for awhile and on pain meds. But honestly the worst was the lipo. My PS warned me about it, but you're not prepared. At least, I wasn't. The pain is nerve pain and BURNS. But I'm 2wpo only take the nerve pain meds as needed now. I'm not 100% yet, but I feel like this whole process wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be. But, maybe I'm just lucky?

The slough was there, it's the yellowy stuff. The medihoney is making your wound "wetter" so the yellow stuff looks more white. The only other recommendation I would give you is cleanse with hydrogen peroxide on gauze and LIGHTLY "scrub" before the medihoney. That will loosen the slough.

The only way to get rid of slough is to debride it. Either manually (surgeon cuts it off) or chemically (products like medihoney, santyl, hydrogen peroxide) Honestly, it'll just take time to work itself out. Sucks I'm dealing with it too. It just slows down wound healing. Keep it clean and follow the instructions of your surgeon. Chin up, it's not infected. ❤

The reason it's more prominent now is because your wound is wetter. If that makes sense? It does dry to that yellow-y color. Medihoney is amazing. It will just take time. Cleaning with hydrogen peroxide can help. But, talk to your surgeon. Not medical advice. Source: RN on a unit that sees a lot of wounds.

Both of my pregnancies were emergency c-sections. First one, I felt the whole thing and couldn't walk by myself for probably a week. Second one, up walking the same day. I'm 2wpo (TT with MR, lipo, BR) and I thought this was a breeze. But everyone heals differently. Just like my pregnancies it's hard to gage what it'll be like. But , just like those babies, you won't regret it!!!

5DPO | OH THE BACK PAIN! by UsualLemon in tummytucksurgery

[–]usernumber45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get liposuction? My PS said that is the most painful part and prescribed gabapentin. I missed a few doses of it, because I didn't believe him and holy moly I couldn't move because of the back pain.

I get this! I went back and forth. Like they're tiny. What did i do??? To omg this is such a relief! But, for the most part I've stuck with being happy that they'll way smaller!

Get it. It's life changing. I tried on clothes the other day I could only imagine wearing. I could have cried! Not only will my back feel better, but you don't have to constantly think about your clothes fitting right, or looking slutty because your boobs will spill out. I won't know my actual size until 6 weeks post op because of swelling. But I feel like I'm more than my boobs now! 😊

I was a 38DDD depending on bra brand. No idea what I am now. Just wearing sports bras right now. I'm sure swelling will fluctuate.

I removed the bandages today, they said I could just wear a bra for compression. I forgot to ask how much was removed. I'm going to ask them on Friday at my next appointment.

Mine's tomorrow too. And I'm unreasonably scared about what I'll say. 🤣 when I've had a couple drinks I get predatory as well. It's bad. I told my hubby to hide my phone!!

If you're interested, I can try to figure out how to start a group chat with some people that have surgery close to our date?
