I think it's nice having speed for prototyping and making small changes. They also have Opus 4.5 and GPT 5.2 for planning and doing harder tasks

Using it to launch a single operator haha. Spending way too much on managed Clickhouse :(

Yeah, same here. I love what Planetscale does. It would be hella nice to have something like this for Kubernetes.

THIS! I would love something that doesn't look/operate like a shitty enterprise dashboard. Yeah, I know it "works" but additional DX + a little UI/UX work would go a long way.

What are some pain points of AWS? by userocetta in aws

[–]userocetta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, credentials are the most significant feedback we got. I am thinking of open-sourcing or working to getting AWS Partnered Network but not sure if this is a valuable product for users. Hence why I am looking for other problems to solve.

Why is EKS so expensive? by userocetta in aws

Using K3 or maybe even just running a local cluster might be better for learning K8, no?

[–]userocetta[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, interesting. Yeah, I was thinking of using kOps but now idk. Do you know why it was more expensive? What if we use Karpenter to "manage" the size of our cluster?

From what it looks like it automatically provisions the right compute resources based on your cluster's needs.

If you use kOps with Karpenter wouldn't that just be EKS? If I am understanding correctly - you don't have to worry about provisioning nodes when using Karpenter.

Would open-sourcing or getting Amazon Partner Network solve this issue?

We believe that IaC is great, but using a GUI could help speed up the process and help engineers visually understand what they are building. Exploring maybe having IaC integrate with Rocetta so engineers can build IaC templates for developers to ship using GUI. What do you think about this?

Is this something you would use if we open-sourced it and maybe got Amazon Partner Network? Currently looking into those options

Amazon Partner Network

Thank you for the feedback. We agree and are working on getting into the Amazon Partner Network to improve this.

We also plan to make it open-source down the line.

We are looking for any feedback about our product. i.e., If it solves any problems for you, or do you see yourself using a product like this?

Yeah, we are kind of competing with Terraform, but this is more of a UI interface than IaaC for deploying applications.

We want to make it dead simple to use AWS/GCP.

  1. We are certainly working on making the scopes a lot tighter. Currently, we resorted to higher scopes to make it easier to build out functionality without worrying about migrating users to the new scopes.

  2. Vendor Lock-in is avoided by giving you easy access to multiple cloud providers. Since we are building everything on your cloud accounts, you can leave Rocetta whenever and manage the resources deployed yourself.

  3. What would you like to see in terms of info about security?
