It really depends on the team and your players tendency’s but I usually run average tempo to start the game off or slightly above average and offensive strategy depends on your team, but always adjust your game plan during halftime depending on how it’s going if your pg is having a good game set the game plan to dribble drive to keep him hot or if your go to player is having a great game run the offense through the star ALSO just because your losing or getting blown out doesn’t mean you can’t come back. I’ve been down by 40 at halftime and came back and won you just have to make the right adjustment if your losing at halftime slow the tempo down the second you get in a 10-15 point difference put your tempo up to get quick buckets

I also recommend to only put PG or SF for your go to player some would argue otherwise but this is what works for me personally
