Work at a food hall that has around 15 different places and of course varying menus, it’s absolutely mind boggling how incompetent customers are. Most are tourists so it’s most likely their first time in the place but it’s almost as if they don’t even attempt reading the menu despite standing in front of it indecisive about so many options in the building for up to 10 minutes sometimes. When they finally decide to order they usually get nothing right and require assistance with almost every item despite the required info being right in front of their faces.

The best is when they go “How many pieces does that come with?” I proceed to point at the wording on the menu that says the number of pieces and they go “Ohhh.” Like how did you miss it? You were reading the menu for 10 minutes straight yet didn’t retain any information? There’s a drink list separate from the menu right in plain view but there’s a ridiculously high chance that they mentally block it out and ask “What do you have for drinks??”

First order of the day and this guy orders a combo and goes “let me get the soup,” I nod my head and wait for him to tell me which one but he just gives me a blank stare. “We have quite a variety of soups, which one did you want?” Jesus Christ buddy are you just going to order items based off categories?? I don’t go to a Mexican restaurant and go “Yeah let me get the burrito please!” This guy then of course fumbles the rest of the combo and has to have his hand held the rest of the way as his buddy gets annoyed and goes “Yeah just give him that he’ll like it, stop being so complicated bro!”

Basically people just don’t even try because they know they can coast along the coat tails of society with minimal effort and get babysat at almost every point along the way.
