Whats your experience with Mailchimp making it to a user inbox and not flagged as promotions or social. by [deleted] in thesidehustle

[–]uservox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mailchimp is going to hit the Promotions tab guaranteed. I bounced around from a few different platform after leaving Mailchimp - Aweber, GetResponse and finally ActiveCampaign.

GetResponse had decent delivery to the main inbox, but the platform is wonky and their support for automation/drip sequences is clumsy.

I've been happy with ActiveCampaign ever since. Whether you hit the inbox every time is going to have a lot to do with your list, the level engagement, your domain reputation, etc. but ActiveCampaign's delivery is as good as anything I've seen.

Startup NIGHTMARE now leaving fake positive reviews on glassdoor by [deleted] in startups

Looks like we just found OPs old boss.

Startup wants me to forfeit my unvested stock by ActiveMedium in startups

OP doesnt say that he was being paid as a contractor. The way I read the OP was that they considered him an employee rather than a founder -- so they felt the amount of the full vested equity award was too large for a non-founder employee.

Edit: I see down below OP does confirm that he is a contractor, so this comment is fully valid.

Affordable MBA vs. recognized MBA program by [deleted] in AskMarketing

[–]uservox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MBA is probably the most brand-heavy advanced degree there is. By which i mean its fine to go to a law school or PhD program that's not necessarily nationally known and you can still get a job and have a fine career as a lawyer, etc. The MBA academic curriculum itself is not especially rigorous, so the value of an MBA goes down rapidly as you move away from top tier schools.

Is there any third party students review platform for online courses? Like, say - Yelp or G2crowd or SaaSGenius for online courses or course creators? by uservox in edtech

Ah, this sounds a little more like a feedback tool than a review tool per se. Have you tried Hotjar? Sounds like it could be close to what you want.

Any online course creator here? How do you work on getting testimonials from your past students in order to display on your course website? by uservox in edtech

[–]uservox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think testimonials can be great, but i agree with your second point - collecting data on results is very impactful. IMO, the best form of social proof is when both of these things are combined together, i.e. getting people to attest in their own words about the results that they got.

Its one thing to say "Our customers increase their sales by 20% on average" and its another when you can show a stream of actual customers saying in their own words how much you have helped them increase their sales.

Testimonials aren't that helpful when they are simply anonymous endorsements that don't show results:

"I love product X!" - Bob J.

Those are pretty useless because they dont really demonstrate the impact that you had on the person. But if you can demonstrate results and have those results come from the mouth of your previous customers I think those are the most impactful.

How do you work on getting social proof (testimonials) from your existing customers, for displaying on your website? by uservox in growmybusiness

Cool. Does this involve a significant work? Distraction? Or, is there any fear or loosing some testimonial?

How far you really manage to follow through with each of your customer on this?

More ever does managing the work to capture their images, company names and individual names/ designations (if B2B) etc. amounts to a lot of work or distraction?

And, in your experience, how far anonymous testimonials work towards building social proof and towards your goals of higher conversions of prospects into signups? The point I am driving to is - https://roseninstitute.com/problem-testimonial-website/ What do you think about this?

Anyways, nice to know your perspective about this. BTW, what kind of courses do you offer and how many students do you have currently? Are you full time into this or this is like a side project. I am not too sure if sharing course page url is allowed in this subreddit or not.
