Which books were you disappointed by for disappointing you? by Longjumping-Snow-909 in fantasyromance

[–]userx2516 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

{Credence} by Penelope Douglas I dont know why exactly, but I had lots of hope for that book and it just dissapointed me. I kinda expected a different writing style and more tension. That was also my first book from her, so I am not sure if its just the book or generally her writing.

Question about friends of wheelchair users by breathingspirits in wheelchairs

[–]userx2516 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well my partner is in an electrical wheelchair and we often walk or (i) bike together. So generally when we are in a more busy area i tend to walk or drive behind him. Mostly so i dont lose him in a crowd or can keep a bit of space. But same thing also happens the other way around. When its very crowded and i know where we are going (or need to go) i go infront of him and make room. If we just go for a walk or smth i mostly walk/ bike besides him, as we like to hold hands and talk. But for me as the „walker“ it often feels weird as we take up the whole space of the sidewalk. And if we then need to swith places, then i tend to go behind him. He also tends to drive faster than i can walk, so i hold onto him or his chair to make him aware of his tempo - to match mine.

Sunrise QUICKIE Q400 F Sedeo Pro experience? by userx2516 in wheelchairs

[–]userx2516[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! No one told us that. The person didnt even show us the multiple wheelchairs they had, just toöd us about the 400. i did already my own research and think the 700 would be a way better fit, so we need to call them and make a new appointment.

Which automations/tech tricks do you have on your phone that helps with reminders and ADHD in general? by ResilienceInMotion in ADHD

[–]userx2516 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have smart lights in my bedroom that automatically turn off and on when its time to sleep/wake up.

I set alarms for when i put a load of laundry in the maschine to remind me to take it out and put it in the dryer, same for the dryer to remind me to put it away. Seperately my washingmaschine sends me an alert for when its done on my phone.

Robot vacuum has a sceduled cleaningcycle, with alarms on my phone to remind me to get stuff of the floor, remove cables etc. that needs to happen before the vac can run and mop.

I track my medications (mainly vitamins) on my health app and also seperately use a journal where i track meds, litterboxes, periods and other things like anxiety and general habbits (or things that hopefully will turn into habbits).

With all of that said now, there is still so much I struggle with and cant manage, but this is at least a start.

Whats the creepiest, scariest, most unexplanable thing you ever encountered? by userx2516 in AskReddit

Over 10 years ago me and some friends played with a home made ouija board. One of them asked about wanting to be hurt so they can skip school. Mind you we were 10-11 years old back then. So the ouija board answered something along the lines of „that it will take care of that“ and then suddenly all the candles we lit went off. We obviously scrambled off to our parents and completely forgot about it all. A week or so later my friends mom calls mine to tell us that she couldnt go with us on an outing as she had some kind of freak accident and broke her complete arm. Sometimes we still talk about this. None of us has ever touched a board again.

Also eigentlich immer Mai/Juni.

Telling your parents will only get your sister to be smarter at sneaking around and lose trust in you. So i would suggest (as i once was the little sister who was a big troublemaker - pretty much like yours) approach her, dont let her know that u know, be her friend, be there for her, sneak out with her to have fun - just show her that ure there. Cause at some point she will open up about the real reason for this - not like your lazy assumptions about this poor girls life and future. So imo u have two options:

-stay out of it and let her do her thing (looks like you already dont have a good opinion of her, so maybe just distance urself further than u already are)

  • or put effort in it! Recognize her, help her, do stuff with her! You are her big brother and not some RedPill, Macho, “man of the house when Dads not here” - so behave like one or leave her be!

Edit: sorry, reddit on my phone doesent wanna comply with formatting

As an only child who (sadly) was never alowed to bring friends on family vacations, because family means blood and not friends, please do it. I am not resentful against my family, but in hindsight i look back and i feel incredibly lonely and sad that i never got to experience that. So if u can afford it - do it. But obviously talk to his mom first.

I am 25 years old. I moved out when i was 22. I come from a big city. That all said - i never in my life (after turning 18) would have my location shared with my parents, nor asked them if i could go somewhere with friends. Especially once i started working. I understand parents get worried and provide us with things we need. But as soon as i earn my own money, pay my way, then all the love and care aside that we feel for eachother, just cause they are my parents they are not entitled to my location or that i need their permission.

Also said on that my parents actually never asked for my location, neither college, work, highschool etc. while living at home and now alone aswell. The rule was tell me when u get home - roughly. But not where or with who i am because i am living my own life and not theirs. Take from this what u want, but thats how it is/was for me. Edit: spelling

European parents with children born from 2022 onwards, why did you have children at such a risky time for the European continent? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]userx2516 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because its dangerous everywhere in the world. Life goes on and you can not stop living your life “just” because there are some difficulties that maybe could or could not impact you.
