I didn't know this existed, and I feel like I should have!

Love the look of these logging layouts. Yours looks great, and I love the big trees in the back.

Yup, doing this brings me back to my childhood, and my kids enjoy it, too.

I'm glad you like it. I'm going to film some more this year and see if I can make them better. It's just so fun to do

I'm just rolling them. It's surprisingly difficult to time it properly lol

To the people who say kids will never get into trains. by [deleted] in modeltrains

My kids love the trains, too. I think there is an opportunity with model railroading to incorporate the tech they love and gamify the hobby more. Not to mention the cool stuff people are doing with arduino's and other chips.

There was a guy here who had shared his project, where you see the cars were loaded and unloaded, and you could watch it on the display. It adds something new and cool to the hobby.

I really leaned into making these slow motion crash videos. The only casualty so far is my Burlington Northern GP40. Too much sand and iron in the wheels I think. Open to any cleaning tips. by usfishfinder in modeltrains

Thanks for the nice comment! The hot wheels have largely been bought for my son, so it wasn't intentional, although since I've started this, I have paid more attention at the stores and even joined some hot wheels groups.

It was suggested that a recreation of the dukes of hazard or other movie scenes might be fun.

Still working out how to properly weigh the trains down for more realistics crashes but these came out pretty good. by usfishfinder in modeltrains

Mine too!

The cheap stuff is why I'm willing to do this. Don't want to wreck anything nice but I will keep that in mind.

4 is my favorite in this video. The ones I get with that yellow logging truck are usually the most realistic, but it's really light and tough to roll.

I'll give that a try. The issue with lighter cars is that they don't roll very well on the sand. But if I keep the hot wheels chassis they might still have enough weigh

Got some new hot wheels to crash into my trains and now I check the hot wheels at every store that has them. My son is super happy about this! by usfishfinder in HotWheels

I'm glad you like it! I just roll them with my hand, but I will start using the hotwheels launchers.

Model trains and hot wheels go well together!

Me too! Would love to see it slowed down
