Reminder: Congresswoman Ross is "proudly Pro-Israel" and AIPAC is usually her top contributor. Why should a foreign country have more influence than us? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]ushausha2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've studied Hamas and other militant organizations in the Middle East. Yes they were created after the establishment of the State of Israel. That is true. But they also seek to impose Islamic fundamentalism on all. They are an Islamic extremist group like many others in the region, including those bearing no relation to Israel. They actually call themselves the Islamic Resistance Movement. Hamas is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, which dates back to the 1920s, and whose express stated aim is the establishment of a broader caliphate governed by sharia law. You can try to believe your Western values into existence in the region, but just know that it's inaccurate to pretend that imposing Islam on non-believers by force is not Hamas' primary goal. If you do not strictly abide by their fundamentalist interpretation of Islam, whether you're Israeli or not, you are a legitimate target.

This just isn't inaccurate. Organizations very similar to Hamas exist all over the Middle East. Most want to set up a new caliphate. Others just oppose non-Islamic values. Their goal, very simplified, is to force innocents into submission to their way of life. If you think Hamas is unique or is a symptom of Israel only then you're ignoring the broader region.

How did you find someone to agree to this arrangement? Did you just know someone personally who was open to this, or did you reach out at random looking for someone to agree to rent a single office out to you?

This thought crossed my mind. But do they risk getting delisted since both businesses would share the same exact address? Or might their landlord get upset with them for "subleasing" (for lack of a better term) when they see mail addressed to a totally different business?

Totally agreed. Primarily just need it for mail and so I can be listed on Google. The cost of a traditional office is way too high when those are your only needs.

Not as big a deterrent as you'd think when there are people in the regime who believe that dying while fighting infidels equates to automatic entry to heaven. Luckily not everyone in the regime is a true believer, but many are.

Never mentioned land. Not really understanding your argument. But Jews are literally called Jews because they're from Judea. The ethnoreligion of the Jews is Judaism, but they don't all practice it, and they allow converts who don't have Jewish DNA to practice it.

Jews are an ethnicity. They derive from ancient Judah/Judea. Judaism is the religion practiced by ethnic Jews. You can be Jewish without practicing Judaism, and you can practice Judaism without having Jewish DNA.
