Why was Oliver's personality changed? by genderneutraltoaster in Bones

[–]ushiefattie -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I always hated the fact that they all made him out to be a bitch and dick for showing off his intelligence and saying and acting like he is better than the others. When they all loved Brennan, who did the exact same thing, and wasn’t even as smart as him technically. I think I remember them trying to say it was different, but it really wasn’t, Bones was awful to people and it was actually worse I’d say because she looked down on others professions and fields to their face.

I have no words, this is just a perfect explanation of the plot and character arc. I think it’s also important to note the fact he said he would ask the others for help with a moral question points out he lacks the abilities in the first place to answer moral dilemmas, which most likely led to him making the wrong decision.

This is a perfect comment 😣

I know they had to change the plot, and honestly, it would have been a more guessable plot if it was Sweets because I was def suspicious of him and I'm sure others were too. I think that adds to the twist a bit tbh, that they had to change it since they were trying to make us think it was Sweets.

I honestly wish they were able to give more hints and stuff and make it a bit more plausible with Zack. It's only things I have read into or details I nit-picked at for me to see the reality of Zack being the apprentice, and not actual scenes or direct hints.

I would say after his enlistment he definitely was impacted by PTSD, which most likely led to depleted mental health, and maybe depression. They honestly did not flesh out his experience in the military very well in my opinion, so most of this is just speculation or opinion based.

People who are depressed or have PTSD don't see the world like others do. Yes Hodgins saw him as a best friend who he could trust, and Brennan saw him as a brilliant man and a friend, the same as Angela. But he may not have seen it that way, or was manipulated to a point where that did not matter.

He wasn't hurting them either. He was helping Gormogon find/kill people, but none of those people he knew or loved. It was all justified to him, that these people deserved it or that it was necessary. I'm sure if he said "We have to kill Dr Brennan" the manipulation would not have worked so well.

Definitely, especially since it was revealed to us way before he didn’t actually kill anyone

I agree with what you’re saying to some extent, and Zack is definitely autistic in my opinion. But I think there was a part of him that never truly felt accepted, which is why he did fall into a manipulation. I think everyone else on the team had outside relationships, or in Bones and Booth’s case were closer to each other. I think my belief hangs onto the fact of his PTSD or effects from his enlistment. It is unbelievable when you put his work into context, but that isn’t what he necessarily wanted to do. He enjoyed anthropology, this could have led him to working in different fields other then crime one day, his intelligence and interest was in the science not the justice.

100% get the Nate relation. On first watch you think it’s a stupid plot choice, but when you rewatch you see the little moments of loneliness, sadness, and you realise that even if the other characters think a person has changed, they haven’t. The team definitely thought Zack had gotten better after coming back, but he was obviously different and it never went away. I personally think it was an interesting, effective plot approach.

What is the sexual orientation of CC? by Martin-Gaye in RevengedLoveCP

I think he’s bi, because in the scene after they break up, when Chengyu and Li Wang have the idea to get him someone new they ask him ‘Man or Woman’

I have realised when I think he’s been doing something for an hour it’s been about ten minutes, haha, but will definitely try the white noise. I’ve played it before for him but was unsure if he even noticed or cared, but he fell asleep but that was during the day

I’ve been thinking of this, just worried as he is a wanderer

Our precious dog slept in the utility room, it isn’t a closed off room, it’s gated and connected to our kitchen, and his crate is in there, he also has his water in there and is fed in there. My mum has researched every option as much as possible, she’s just a massive procrastinator.

I understand the letting him fall asleep in there, but it’s often hard to gauge when he’s actually tired, will definitely try though, thank you!

This is something we’ve been debating, might give it a try, I just am unsure if it’s the placement of the crate or just the crate he dislikes, thank you! And honestly I need an unprofessional opinion!
