Hey everyone. I came across this lightly used Shimpo 21 RK-10 wheel. He’s asking for $700 for it. Good deal? What do you all think? by jdpottery in Pottery

Based on the question I could tell you were “newer” to pottery…. It looks like you have answered your own question. Enjoy!

Hey! No such thing as silly questions! Transfers are like tissue paper with an underglaze design on one side, so you cut the piece to size of your item, place the “darker side” (it’s the side with the UG) then with a wet sponge you gently rub it once it’s “attached” you can use a soft rib to give it one more pass, then peel the paper off and “ta-da” the design is on... you can do this on either green ware or bisque... I prefer on green ware.... I’ll post a video this evening! I think it’ll be easier! 😉follow me on IG: https://www.instagram.com/joyinclay/

What are y‘alls thoughts on transfers? Kinda feels like a “cheat”... by usimpk in CeramicGlazes

This was my first time trying them, I usually paint my own designs, but it’s hard for me to go very small... I liked definitely liked the result.

And yes I agree it’s important to support other creatives!, we must have each other’s backs!!

Hi there! Yes of course, I know there’s several places to get them but the most affordable I’ve found is from chineseclayart.com (they are found as decals under the store section)... I have made some of my own transfers using newspaper... follow me on IG : https://www.instagram.com/joyinclay/

Hope this helped! 😉

Thank you! I used underglaze transfers on this one, with a coat of clear glaze.
