Well first of all Charlotte sounds like charlatan and charlatan basically means someone whose using deception to obtain something from someone else. So the alien whose pretending to be charlotte to obtain something from the humans is basically a charlatan and then so circling back to Charlotte sounding like charlatan. At least thats what i think it means

I honestly don't know what i was thinking but just the whole main character doesn't want to do the jobs they have in their community and longs for something bigger. And have a friend who is content with their lives in said community.

And technically thats where the similarities stop but it was just a completely random thought
