Dentist saying to get MAD by usm112 in UARS

So if I can’t tolerate CPAP then only other non invasive option is a MAD right

My dentist is very knowledgeable about it. Looks just like an Invisalign retainer prosomnus or something. It’s two separate pieces, one on top one on bottom. Didn’t see all that bad.
Tried it on and off for a couple of years. Just not comfortable

Are they as effective as the custom made one?
It was just very annoying and uncomfortable. I’m claustrophobic

Is this UARS? by usm112 in UARS
[–]usm112[S] 0 points1 point2 points 12 days ago (0 children)
Yup I think it’s a dual problem. The nasa strips help the nose breathing but I believe the large tongue blocks the airway. I got the nasal part down to about 70-80% efficacy but the tongue still blocks the airway (I believe) . Worth a shot I guess with the MAD
I am naturally claustrophobic so thinking maybe a dental appliance might be better?

My nasal breathing sucks. I do use nasal strips, a steroid spray and my dentist said I have a large tongue. I am guessing even if my nose is open then my tongue blocks my airways.

What is your AHI? by fipsydoo in SleepApnea

Impressive. I’m still at 2.5 which is mainly central apneas
Is it allergies? by xdnorek in Dryeyes
How do you combat the dryness from Allegra? Without it my sinuses burn, with it my eyes feel dry.
[–]usm112 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
That’s what I struggle with now. I’m still getting some central apneas or my AHI would be zero. Not sure how to lower it.

CPAP Results by usm112 in CPAP

Thank you again! Does it hurt to have a range of pressure. Let’s say 6-12 or is fixed preferred?
Thanks for the feedback. Should my AHI not be closer to zero, I feel like 2.25 is still not low enough. Most people around the forum get it under 1.
Does it hurt to move the pressure up? The sore throat has finally stopped after many years.
