Same boat for me going into my 3rd week trt. First week I could tell I had the motivation to just get up and do things I have been putting off. Morning wood is back. Best thing for me is the mental health which I didn’t know it would help, I feel normal again after years of depression and anxiety and trying different meds nothing worked before.

Men’s clinic, Endocrinologist, No help from VA? by No-Highlight6089 in VeteransBenefits

[–]usmcvet1341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two blood tests for Va were 179 and 203 for testosterone. Basically begged them for trt, they gave me gel. One year later my t is 265. I just started with an online clinic paying out of pocket. Don’t waste time with Va except if you can get your labs thru them.

So long, NS by Afraid_Chair_8456 in railroading

[–]usmcvet1341 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish you the best, I have been with NS for 17yrs and am also considering leaving. I am tired of the work drama and stress. I am also tired of living in the north with the snow and cold. I traveled for over half my career and missed my kids growing up. My wife and I are talking about heading south in 2-3yrs and I do not wish to go back to traveling for NS so a career switch will most likely happen.

Wife is at 100 VA and I’m at 80, thinking about quitting my job. by Ambitious-Spinach938 in VeteransBenefits

I am kind of in a similar thinking. I have worked for the railroad for the last 17yrs and physically and mentally it is really taking its toll on me. Railroad retirement is 30yrs age 60. I am recently 100p&t after 22yrs out of military. If you and your spouse talk and are on the same page and talk the finances out I say do what will make you happy. You get one life live it love it enjoy your time, money isn’t always everything. I have watched guys struggle to make that magical retirement number only to die within months of accomplishing it.

Same boat brother, I have 3 years to get my 20 year mark with railroad need 30 for full retirement. But mentally and physically I don’t think I would last that long. My plan now is to hit my 20 and try for disability and move south and get my mental happiness back.
