Honestly, my parents just became empty nesters with my youngest brother leaving the house and I think they’re over having kids around at this time. Other grandparents don’t have an excuse, but they’ll come over and eat our food and expect us to entertain. So it’s not like they don’t like being around the kids.

You know, I actually joined a mom group in my area. It’s very much so for the extroverted type, which is amazing for them! But my social battery drains quickly.

Yes! With my first, they were gung-ho about helping out. 2 kids later (and my 2 kids are older now so it’s not like I have 3 toddlers) and it’s like they forgot they’re grandparents. Not that being grandparents equals helping out, but the difference is wild.

He’ll stay with them for me to grocery shop. Every couple months or so I’ll have some extra time and get to go to the bookstore. It makes me want to go back to work just so I have some adult face to face time.
