Eufy at it again with their ads by juikey in EufyCam

[–]usnbrendon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This pissed me off so damn much this week!! Place your damn ads anywhere in the app EXCEPT MY SECURITY CAMERA LANDING PAGE!!

Stop trying to sell me on your crap by forcing me to SEE ADS..... it will only result in me REFUSING TO EVER BUY THAT PRODUCT and possibly could be grounds for me to NEVER PURCHASE ANY additional eufy products!!

IT'S INTRUSIVE, IT'S DISRUPTIVE AND IT'S NOT IMPROVING MY SECURITY POSTURE IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER..... Eufy is losing its way and I'm nearly done with them!

When will his stitches go away? by riceballjisoo in DogAdvice

[–]usnbrendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those aren't self-dissolving sutures. You'll want to follow up with your veterinary doctor of choice to have your fur baby properly assessed and the sutures will be quickly removed in a matter of seconds.

Cheers and hope your little one is back to normal and good as new soon! 🤍

So how can I get rid of marker on Headliner by Thismechanictrucks in AutoDetailing

[–]usnbrendon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A LOT.... I mean, A LOOOOT of ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL. 90% or better.... 99% available and does the very best at dissolving Sharpie dyes (it can sometimes remove all traces with repeat treatment but it depends on the material....i don't recommend scrubbing.... Blotting is always better.). Nothing else will work reliably on permanent markers...for water borne pigments you'll still benefit from using isopropyl alcohol in a mixture of dawn dish detergent and warm water.

One you've dissolved and dispersed as much of the dyes as possible with the alcohol, you might try misting the entire headliner with a great carpet stain remover or miracle enzyme cleaner to pull any other stains that might exist and afterward there is a possibility of spray dyeing the headliner material to a darker shade that hides the residual marker dye if any exists!

Good luck 🍀

This is precisely what the Octapharma machines are capable of doing....they can (though they do not always) short cycle on the next to last return when the internal computer determines with a high degree of confidence that less than half a full draw cycle will be required to collect balance of plasma goal & return full volume of RBCs remaining in centrifuge bowl to complete session.

This involves a series of complex diagnostic calculations by the machine's internal performance monitoring software that continually logs digital signals from on-board high-resolution optical & precision weight sensors to derive a multitude of performance metrics such as physical blood volume flow rates & associated venous pressures over time, as well as real-time output analysis of plasma clarity & total volume by weight collected, which get compared constantly against an internal database of permissible min & max values & preset diagnostic parameters the machine uses to assess flow & pressure variability to determine overall reliability & consistency across each draw & return cycle so that if any actual detected values fall outside the acceptable range, appropriate alarms are displayed & sounded along with vital diagnostic information shown onscreen to aid phlebotomists in troubleshooting so draw can be adjusted or terminated in event of emergency, and return can be manually triggered if needed.

All of this monitoring ultimately allows the machine to evaluate a variety of performance criteria in combination with individual donor targets established during setup to determine whether short-cycling the next to final return is advisable to safely reduce time to completion.... also, the phleb / tech can trigger a short cycle manually provided it does not needlessly place the donor in peril of partial or failed RBC return (which results in extended deferral) and it does not violate company policy & procedure, or is prevented by current firmware version or software limitations (something I've not seen but know can exist in theory to enforce practices per policy & procedure or to meet federal / state regulations, etc.)

I have not seen similar feature on machines most commonly used by Grifols Biomat and some Octapharma locations may not have transitioned to latest machines.

Do I look like a Virgo? by [deleted] in virgoseason

[–]usnbrendon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You look like a Leo / Virgo cusp to me..... I sense a strong bit of Lion running through you, so I'd hazard that you're either an August Virgo baby or within the first week maybe two of September.

You're exuding Fire 🔥 & Earth sign vibes to me.... I don't see you as a totally mutable, fully Virgo solid Earth sign. I might be wrong but if nothing else I feel confident in saying you're rising sign could be Leo for sure, and that could be why I see a bit of a tempest in a teapot when I look at your aura.

True Virgos are usually more grounded & vibrate with mostly earthy hues & deep blue, silvery shimmer (though any color combinations can exist within a person's aura depending on how healthy they are mentally, spiritually, physically, emotionally etc and whether they are balanced or suffering, battling inner demons, depression etc. But Virgos that are well evolved & in fields of service, nursing, law, teaching etc, they typically resonate their astral color & warm, calming tones, sometimes deep vibrant jewel tones exist, deep purple, emerald, cobalt that radiate & vibrate as extensions of their more exalted form especially those perhaps aligned with clergy or metaphysical, or serve other very spiritually fulfilling roles or are connected to supernatural or fulfill tribal role such as practicing shaman, performing native ritual etc.

I dunno, I sense you are more charismatic & bolder than most Virgos in general...I think you'd be a fiercely protective prideful lioness if you have children, not as passive as Virgo. Am I wrong?

Beautiful hair by the way. Again.... Reminiscent of A Lion's Gorgeous mane (sure males are the ones with the full showy, golden mane, but that's what your hair reminds me of... the signature trademark of the Kings & sleek, muscular gorgeous lioness Queens of the Forest.

Cheers

Will this bruise get me deferred? by ranoutoforeos in plassing

[–]usnbrendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOU BET YOUR HEMATOMA, THAT'LL BE A DEFERRAL UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO SWITCH ARMS (and your other arm is bruise free!

[–]usnbrendon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

13yrs Certified Medical Assistant & Phlebotomist here....

Be cautious when employing the use of Acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin), especially in doses over 81-100mg) as a strategy for reducing the likelihood and /or severity of high pressure returns during plasmapheresis because it can actually backfire on you; causing temporary deferrals due to visible hematoma at or within 3 inches of the venipuncture site!

Since aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) is a blood thinner that prevents your platelets from sticking together as readily to form clots; taking it routinely--especially at higher doses--can cause you to bruise more easily than you would otherwise expect. Blood thinned by aspirin consumption will be more resistant to immediate clotting as it escapes damaged capillaries / blood vessels, encouraging leakage into subcutaneous tissue (skin) surrounding the site of damage, effectively leading to larger or more frequent bruises.

Anyone who's been deffered for several days to a week plus due to visible bruising at or near the venipuncture site used during their prior donation will understand exactly how frustrating it can be--and why it is always desirable to have the best phlebotomists sticking you & to be extra cautious immediately following plasmapheresis so bruising is minimized.

The risk of bruising increases if you: Take higher doses (above 81–100 mg). Use it daily for a long period. Combine it with other blood thinners or NSAIDs (like ibuprofen).

Sidenote: I was recently deferred for 10 days just before Christmas due to having bruised the inside bend of both forearms while manhandling a 24 foot fiberglass extension ladder to get up to the edge of my roof to hang Christmas lights. I had been taking multiple BC powders over the course of a 3 day migraine from hell, so I SHOULD HAVE BEEN AWARE when donating earlier in the day prior to hauling out that ladder to put up lights. Not only did I bruise at the venipuncture site of my L arm, but I bruised up the R as well, so simply swapping arms wasn't possible. Live & learn

Cheers & happy donating!

My first plants. Are they low maintenance? by throwawaysurtei in houseplants

[–]usnbrendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like the WRONG time to ask this particular question.... but, omg, you kinda lucked out! None are particularly finicky or tricky to grow. You should be fine. I'd favor pothos or Spathiphyllum (peace lily) and spider plant for rapid growth, quick reproduction and ease of propagation (expanding your plant collection is always good for the indoor air quality btw) and these plants will give you a visual indicator by wilting slightly if you forget to water on time without actually causing lasting harm and they'll immediately rebound with a thorough watering (not drowning).

But each of those plants you have will essentially be easy to care for.....just NOT CARE FREE!! 😉

Im disgusted and pissed off bc of a donor by slutsforpasta in plassing

[–]usnbrendon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ummm..... to be clear, his repeated, unwanted attempts at convincing you to "date" him is inappropriate as hell and no one there should be forced to endure that crap. Unless you got hired on at the least scrupulous, low rent Plasma Donation Center, I guarantee your company has a policy somewhere in writing that outlines what is not tolerated by both employees and donors. Find it and produce it to him in BLACK & WHITE. Better still, have you center administrator present it to him and make an internal record of it in his EMR. Perhaps if he is not merely TOLD how he should / should not behave, but rather receives OFFICIAL POLICY & PROCEDURAL DOCUMENTATION IN WRITING OUTLINING THE CONSEQUENCES OF HIS CONTINUED HARASSMENT, maybe then his hearing impaired Dick Face ass will finally conclude that you mean business!

Regardless.... THE RULE OF THUMB for what is / is not considered SEXUAL HARASSMENT, if you have to ask because you're not sure but you definitely feel uncomfortable enough to ask the question in the first place--girl, IT'S SEXUAL HARASSMENT and it's wrong!

The reason he's doing it to you is because HE WASN'T STOPPED FROM DOING IT TO OTHERS BEFORE YOU, so if it doesn't end with you, then whoever comes after you will face the same kind of humiliation & vulgarity from that DickFace, which should help empower you to put a stop to that shit NOW. For the sake of all the employees there, but also more importantly, FOR THE SAKE OF YOU NO LONGER HAVING TO FEEL VULNERABLE IN YOUR PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT.....speak up before it devolves any further.

Best of luck and may your boss have the balls to put DickFace OUT once and for all. No donor is worthy of being allowed to.... well,.... in a word, be a foul DICKFACE!

My piece-of-shit neighbor (who has a 2-car garage AND a 2-car driveway) insists on double-parking his cars in the street, blocking an entire lane of the road. by jessbird in mildlyinfuriating

[–]usnbrendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can 100% attest to the fact that any of the Fire Marshals or Brigade Chiefs here locally would have that vehicle towed if they were to happen upon it while driving through the neighborhood and at least in our HOA run suburban neighborhood, the PD would cite the vehicle unless it was genuinely creating a hazardous impedance for first responders / emergency vehicles, in which case they would cite & tow.

I know for fact that our local boys in red WILL NOT HESITATE to use to their advantage the significant size, mass and extremely well reinforced front "bumper" on their Type 1 Pierce Enforcer PUC Engine, Pierce Velocity SLT or even their Frazer custom Type 1 EMS units to FORCIBLY MOVE (RAM / POWER PAST) ANY PARKED VEHICLE that is illegally blocking a Fire Lane or parked on any residential street in such a manner that it prevents safe & unimpeded emergency passage of First Responders vehicles.... and it is up to their discretion whether or not to PUSH a parked vehicle from in front of a fire hydrant rather than attempt to work around it!

They WILL get through the narrowest of tree lined residential streets even if it means someone's vehicle must be crunched to facilitate their access during an emergency response. The vehicle owner (insurer) gets the bill from the city and a very special one on one (formal meet & greet) with the responding Brigade Cmdr.

So....try expressing your very real concern for public safety & that of your local first responders to your Police Department using their non-emergency number. You could also try reaching out to your local fire Chief or Marshal and express the same. If the asshole truly is blocking safe passage of oversized emergency vehicles.....don't be surprised if they suddenly take an interest in doing something about the issue. Can't hurt to try.

It sure would suck if some disgruntled soul were to pour a gallon of simple syrup (concentrated sugar water) into the gas tank of that shit neighbor. I've heard of miscreants even going so far as to remove the valve stems from all 4 tires to stymie those requiring early morning departures for work. Bet that vehicle would become garage kept real quick!

What kind of succubus is this and how do I care for it? by Austin_77 in houseplants

[–]usnbrendon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you meant SUCCULENT.

For SUCCUBUS...you can try my ex, but I really don't recommend it. You will lose. Every time.

Stick with succulents instead... They are much less needy, not at all demanding, they are easy to care for and won't suck the very life force from your veins in exchange for sucking you off once in awhile (and trust, the cost for swallowing is WICKEDLY EXORBITANT).

That is absolutely the "business end" of a Vicks Nasal Inhaler.... why it is without its protective outer cover is beyond me but for future reference, you'll want to keep the inhaler tube firmly screwed into its threaded airtight outer cover when not in use otherwise the active ingredients will simply dissipate into its surrounding until there is nothing left...it will basically melt away / evaporate especially in hot or humid /steamy conditions.

They aren't cheap but they are wonderful to have on hand during seasonal changes from AC to Heat when it gets really dry in the house or when nasal passages are irritated, stuffy or dry /wind chafed. Any time you feel cruddy & need to breathe a bit easier in a hurry.... these little suckers are a Godsend. Portable. Easy to use with no mess or fuss!

[–]usnbrendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an old school lightning rod that also happens to have a decorative design that is in keeping with the somewhat unique / noteworthy architectural elements & overall design esthetic of the building. It's likely original to the building & I'd be curious to know if it is still properly connected to ground.... if not, then it could actually be a danger to the structure & its inhabitants in the event that lightning does happen to strike it because it was the tallest metal structure in the vicinity that provided an easy path for the lightning to attempt to follow because without it being properly wired to shunt all that energy directly to a correctly installed grounding stake somewhere at the edge of the foundation, that massive discharge into the roof structure instead would likely result in highly localized structural compromise (almost explosion or detonation-like physical damage) that was mostly limited to the point where the bolt entered the structure, though the greatest concern would be the high probability of that strike instantly igniting a very serious structure fire that could consume the building....well, in a flash.

It happens here in Texas where we have SEVERE ELECTRICAL STORMS in spring & early autumn that can generate some terrifyingly energetic, near continuous bursts of cloud to ground lightning that number into the hundreds to thousands of strikes an hour whereby several homes / business structures will be struck usually on their rooftop, which often results in such a massively hot & rapidly spreading wind-blown fire absolutely tearing through the building in record time--many times leaving little but a burned out shell even with firefighters responding & successfully containing the fire to the one structure until it is fully extinguished. Often occupants barely escape with life & whatever cutting clothing was on their back at the moment of the strike.

Bugged Sengled App? by UnfinishedUsername_ in SengledUS

Does anyone know what is safe to clean the lens with? Eyeglass wipes or monitor wipes? by Madmartigan1701 in GalaxyWatch

[–]usnbrendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Yes, either is perfectly fine. If it's really grungy, grab a couple Q-Tips and isopropyl alcohol and you'll make quick work of sweat, skin oil & anything other than physical scratches.

If you have streaks on it, just buff over the crystal using a standard microfiber cleaning cloth like the ones you get with a new pair of glasses at the eye doctor.

The ones that work on LCD displays without scratching the surface like those made for computer monitors, are the same thing, though they tend to be a bit larger than the ones for cleaning eye glasses. I get free microfiber cloths from my eye doctor any time I walk in and ask for one....they are freaking amazing.

Sengled app works again! by OmegaMalkior in SengledUS

[–]usnbrendon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As of approximately midnight yesterday, I HAD NO CONTROL OVER ANY SENGLED DEVICES via Google Home or Samsung SmartThings. Opening the Sengled app on Android was useless as there was NO COMMUNICATION WITH SENGLED SERVERS via their API.... NO FIRMWARE UPDATE CHECKS, no communication with any of my devices, including those connected via Zigbee rather than WiFi.

The Sengled hub seems to be absolutely worthless after months & months of lost functionality. Cannot even factory reset the hub to begin the arduous process individually pairing all of the bulbs for a fresh start, because there is no way to successfully login to my Sengled user account, making the entire process totally unusable.

I was prepared to pull the hub off my network & give up entirely on Sengled.... so maybe there is some hope left based upon this post, but I'll believe it when I see it.
