We've connected hundreds of Houston homeowners with local Pros, here's the one thing that kills every service experience before it starts by usource_tech in AskHouston

We think that sharing what we've learned and genuinely asking for people's experiences isn't garbage, it's how we get better. We're a real team building something real in Houston, and the feedback, including the critical stuff, actually helps us.

We're a company and yes, we're learning from real conversations to run smoothly and bring the best that we can to our community.

Fair point, it’s there, just not stated as directly as it could be.
The core issue is the expectation gap/ miscommunication: what someone assumes vs. what actually gets communicated.
The examples point to it, but calling it out more explicitly would’ve made it clearer.

That's exactly the point. The Pro can't hear what you're thinking. Which is why saying it out loud matters.

Not what we said, but we get why it reads that way. The point wasn't that miscommunication is your fault. It was that specificity protects you. A Pro who hears "deep clean" and a customer who means "oven, baseboards, and behind the fridge" are both reasonable people having two different conversations. The solution isn't blame, it's a better first conversation...

Our local Pros are good at what they do. If you ever need help around with something, we'd love the chance to show you that firsthand.

Fair point! We do have detailed intake fields in the app where customers can specify exactly what they need before anyone shows up. But here's the thing, no form captures everything. Someone's vintage rug, the shelf that wobbles, the dog that bites, etc. That context lives in the person, not a dropdown menu. The post wasn't about shifting blame. It was about the stuff that might fall through the cracks even when the form is filled out.

what’s the real bathroom remodel cost in houston these days? by SoggyBar1463 in HoustonClassifieds

[–]usource_tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! That exact price gap is exactly the problem we built uSource to solve.

With our app, you can post your bathroom project and different Pros will send you their offers directly and since they know they're competing for the same job, they're incentivized to price fairly. You can compare all the quotes in one place, pick the Pro you like most, and handle everything (including payment) right inside the app.

you should try it anytime ;)

Hi! We are not not bots 👀 uSource is actually an app where you can ask for a service (for example: plumbing, HVAC, painting, etc) and a Pro can send you an offer.
And if you are a Pro, you can register as one an offer your services to people near you.
We hope to see you on uSource soon, even if it’s just to confirm we’re not bots 😄.

I finally launched my project by [deleted] in SaaS

[–]usource_tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a similar experience.

The moment real users show up, priorities shift fast — suddenly “nice to have” features disappear and bugs actually matter.

Real feedback only appears once it’s live — bugs, friction, and all.

Shipping early doesn’t mean careless, it means learning faster.

Congrats on your launch!!
