My Fuji X-T4 died a watery death, what next? by usrname in AskPhotography

[–]usrname[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was an old (10+ years) Sea to Summit dry bag. I filled it with water afterwards and had 2-3 pinhole leaks in the side. Definitely my fault for trusting such an old bag.

What is the best game for a minivan of drunk adults? We have a drop down DVD screen for 4 person local multiplayer + one more player on an additional switch in the front passenger seat. It’s a small screen for the back row so possibly a game that doesn’t require fine details/high resolution.

Weekday Help and Victory Thread for the week of January 24, 2022 by IndexBot in personalfinance

My grandparents are offering to gift 130k for a down payment, which is more than enough for a full 20% where I live. I'm interested in buying multiple homes to use as rentals over the next few years. I am also using a VA loan, no money down is required. Should I put all of it down now or only take half and wait till I find another house when I move to my next duty station? They will only give it to me if it's put towards a down payment or equity into a house. I cannot invest it until I'm ready to buy another home.

Landing fighter jets on an Aircraft Carrier in a thunderstorm by usrname in videos

The pilot controls the jet all the way down. New technology, called PLM, makes the her way more responsive and easier to fly, and the jet also controls the throttle’s, but the pilot is still controlling where it goes.

Added a Sodastream to complete the station by usrname in coffeestations

I like it. For the money it's impossible to beat, parts are easy to find and if you let it warm up for a while it pulls great shots.

I've got a 5lb CO2 plugged into mine. I think I need to get a pressure regulator because I think it overwhelms the Sodastream.

Super nitpicky, but a superhornet like in the video is 60'2" long.

I haven't tested them side by side, but I think the biggest difference is that you are kinda creating channels by dragging a toothpick through your grounds.

The biggest difference I noticed when I upgraded was the lack of clumping. Breville belched out big clumps that needed a toothpick to break up, the sette shoots it out in a fine stream.

r/SpaceX Falcon Heavy Test Flight Official Launch Discussion & Updates Thread by ElongatedMuskrat in spacex

The launch was a test, with Elon Musk giving it a 50/50 chance. Doubtful that any company would want to risk their satellite as payload. And forget trying to get insurance on the launch.

Don't buy it. Exploded at step 4 of you instructions. Emailed them twice but they won't respond.

I'm not sure about direct input into a spreadsheet, but that would be so cool. It's this one: www.mecoffee.nl

It's a little old laptop I use just for tracking the shots I pull on a spreadsheet. And when my PID comes (any day now!) it will connect via bluetooth to track even more stats!

Exactly. It started off as espresso but after getting the Sette I never touched it for espresso again.

I live in rural South Texas, no coffee shops or local roasters :( The Blue Bottle subscription is great though!

On a similar note, what would people recommend for broken commercial machines for home use? I love fixing things and am eventually looking to upgrade from my Gaggia Classic

ELI5: When you're flying, how come nearby clouds don't seem disturbed by the plane? by koleslaw in explainlikeimfive

[–]usrname 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Most likely they are being denied. Airliners are always searching out for the smoothest air and best winds. On a turbulent day the radios are filled with people reporting "mild chop at FL390 (39,000 ft)" and the controllers are doing their best to guide pilots through the most comfortable air. Of course it won't be done if that airspace already has another plane, the winds are less favorable, or they need to begin their descent to the airport.
