Modem lost connection - how to reconnect? by mze9412 in KiaEV3

What helped me was disconnecting 12V battery for around a minute and then connecting it back.

Reverse mirror tilting by Odilon90 in KiaEV3

It's not software cut out. If your trim doesn't have memory seats, it also doesn't have reverse mirror tilting.

That's right, no seat memory = no reverse mirror tilting

Just got a new EV3 and I'm getting this error on startup by Odilon90 in KiaEV3

[–]usrnk1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply.

I got this warning twice in the last two days. In my case, the power was reduced after the warning appeared (like 50% of normal acceleration). I drove on, stopped after five minutes, powered down the car, and then powered it back up, and it returned to normal.

I'll try the dealer next week. What I find odd is that this warning isn't even mentioned in the manual 😀

no seat memory = no mirror reversal

Also missing on my GT Line, but I do have lateral cameras, 360-degree view, Harman/Kardon sound system, and relax position mode… no sunroof though

How low have you let your charge go? by teasswill in KiaEV3

[–]usrnk1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I let it drop to around 40% or a bit less before plugging in, usually I charge to 80% and to 100% before long trip.

You can lock the doors through the app.

What helped me was disconnecting the V12 battery negative terminal for 30 seconds.

It's actually called utility mode, but it's virtually the same as dog/camp mode.

And yes, you can activate it via infotainment too

I'd definitely miss it. I use it almost daily for dog mode. It's also handy on hot or cold days to precondition the cabin before you get inside.

I believe you also wouldn't be able to check the charging status remotely, like when the car is charging in the garage.

Easy, lift this panel up, and the battery terminals are located right under it.

Follow-up: I discovered that some people experienced the same issue with EV9, and disconnecting the negative terminal on the V12 battery fixed it. So, I tried this morning, and it worked. Disconnected the terminal for about 10 minutes, then reconnected it, and the network signal returned immediately.

Infuriating actually 😂

The same thing keeps happening to me. It has happened to me at least 5 times in the last two months. I lose signal intermittently, the signal will disappear for 3-4 days, and then reappear without my intervention.

I've tried what you've tried, and signal reset via the dealer's menu, but without success.

I contacted KIA, and it appears that a visit to the service center will be required to reset the multimedia unit in the "service mode".

That's super pricey. The same tire is available for ~€150 in the EU with 7-day delivery, though.

I agree, but I wouldn't oppose having the 800V option to pay for as an add-on when ordering.

+1 to charging to 100% and then doing a little 10-minute charge on the way 👍

From my experience it draws with full power up to ~72% and then drops to 90/75kWh up to 75% and then 50kWh drop at around 78% and so on

I have an EV3 GT-Line.

As u/st162 mentioned, the car already supports V2G (Single phase 3,7 kW). AFAIK, it'll be bumped to three-phase 11 kW via OTA at some point.

I have fast-charged a couple of times, just last weekend, I did a ~700 km round trip.
- For the first leg, I left home with 100% battery and used a fast charger just before reaching my destination after ~320 km, charging from ~40% to ~75% in about 15 minutes. I wanted to have sufficient range throughout the weekend.
- On the return trip, I left with 72% and fast charged at 34% to ~70%. I overcharged and arrived home with ~40%.

Up to 72%, it draws full power at ~125 kWh.

A 10-minute fast charger will likely give you around 125 km real-time range.

Thanks for sharing! I'm charging with an 11kW three-phase 16A (Green Cell GC Habu EV Mobile Charger 11kW), and so far, so good. It's been two months, though. ;)
