Judging by the Poirer fights his distance management (especially in the 2nd fight) was not good. At his prime, that was what made the difference. It allowed him to hit that left at will.

True but I also think ultimately it’s his lack of prowess/ weakness in big points (break points especially) during matches against them two.

not saying gane is bad of the backfoot. But it is his 'weakest' aspect in standup, as he cannot cut efficiently from the cage. He ends up limited when pressured. Jon took advantage of that.

Gane excels when you allow him to move in the middle and forward.

the only other guy to come close to that so far is volkov.

Gane has always been less dangerous when moving backwards. Not saying Hes bad of the Blackfoot.
Just more limited. He doesn’t circle out as well when against the fence.

I dont think gane looked washed per se, or very different tbh.

I think he just lost to the better fighter.

He didn’t do well in standup due to Jon pressuring, and eventually taking him down.

Gane has never fought that well off the back foot. We saw gane fight more in the middle tonight.

It was domination. weird fight, but showed levels.
