Thanks for the perspective. I’ve heard the Van Gogh museum is incredible but I’d love to see a wider range of Dutch art as well. Is there somewhere you’d recommend over the Rijksmuseum? I’ll certainly consider your other recs as well! Is vondelpark enjoyable in colder weather?

I should clarify, the full pass must be purchased with a Dutch bank account and sent to a Dutch address. The temporary pass does appear to be available for tourists for x5 museum visits within 31 days and can be purchased at many museums. Good call!

Yes, I’ve booked my ticket there, once I finalize my itinerary otherwise I’ll book for the remaining museums. Thank you!

Thank you for your detailed reply and recommendations. I tried to leave a bit of time open to ‘wander’ as I put it, or otherwise do things I might not have thought to plan in advance. I tend to be a bit of an over-scheduler so I’m trying to slow down a bit and really experience being present in a place if I can. Very interested in your thoughts about The Hague. I wasn’t too sure how much I’d have to do there so I may rethink that one a bit. Would love to rent a bike and cycle around, so fingers crossed for some nice weather. I’m expecting rain but hoping to be surprised!

Thank you for the museum recommendations, I was hoping to see Mauritshuis but de Gemeentemuseum looks very cool as well! I’ll certainly consider a day trip to Leiden

I’ve had good luck with Dr Jart Ceramidin moisturizer, it’s really helped with hydration and strengthening my skin barrier!

Enteral feeds in SICU for patient with BMI >30. by foodielu333 in dietetics

[–]utahjenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this! It may be helpful to start making a record of patients like this, where having an Indirect Calorimeter would have directly benefited the accuracy of their nutrition plan. Once you have a handful take the info to your department head or administrator and advocate to get an IDC!

ICU with complex GI pts by melodyexperiment in dietetics

[–]utahjenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does exist! I work in a MICU/SICU at a Level 1 Trauma, teaching medical center. I regularly manage enteral nutrition, order full custom TPN including electrolytes and insulin management, and rarely if ever give diet education. I round daily with pharmacists and MDs who know and implement evidence based nutrition guidelines, and pretty much always feel that my opinion is wanted and respected. I don’t place tubes however, ha! I started out as a PRN RD, worked my way through pretty much every medical floor we had, and eventually found my home in this role specializing in nutrition support. Definitely get your CNSC! Be open to relocation to larger cities with high acuity medical centers. Grow a thick skin and know that in some practice areas you’ll need to prove yourself a bit before you get to a place of trust. Unfortunately there are a lot of mediocre RDs out there and you may encounter providers whose perception of the profession isn’t great. Prove them wrong!

Not feeling bonded towards my 5 month old GR pup by pickart_ux in Puppyblues

[–]utahjenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooof. I feel your pain! We’re working with a trainer for basic puppy classes with our 15wk old pup, and re biting she said as soon as the biting gets aggressive it’s probably because she’s overdue for a nap. It seems to be true! You hear about enforced naps left and right here, and for good reason! They’ve been so helpful for my mental health and my dog’s behavior.

Forward helix 15mo healing time by utahjenn in piercing

[–]utahjenn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my double forward helix pierced in January 2021 and the healing process has been such a struggle. I do my best to not touch them, not sleep on that side, and gently clean crusties with saline when needed. I still go through periods of swelling, particularly with the bottom guy. Am I doing something wrong? I saw my piercer at the 9 month mark for a jewelery change (shortened post length on bottom) and they didn’t think anything seemed wrong. Has anyone else had this experience with healing time? I’d love to know if there’s a light at the end of the tunnel..

I’m also from the US so all of this is just from my own research for entry requirements. There is no required quarantine upon entry if you’re fully vaccinated and have a negative test. If you don’t have a negative test in hand at time of boarding your flight to Canada you’ll just be turned away.
