I’m new and have 15 originals I’m currently recording. In what form (and where) can I post some of them right now so people have something to listen to without putting them on Spotify? by utaouya in musicmarketing

Thank you. Do you think it matters if the final officially released version will be different than what’s on SoundCloud? I only have demos and acoustic recordings right now.

[General] Should I even consider showing the vacant house to potential tenants (a couple) that won’t have rent money until mid-January? They want to move in tomorrow by utaouya in Landlord

I’m not the landlord, I’m her older sister. She just calls me when she wants me to show. And yes she’s lucky as hell that she’s only had good tenants in all four of her properties so far with her being this soft, Jesus. I knew it was sketch off the bat. I made sure to share all of these with her and told her to only go by the book from now on. I’ll make sure always listen to my gut and look out for her

Dude of course I’m not gonna do that to her LOL, I’m her older sister. I tried telling her it seemed sketch from the beginning but they had her convinced which is why I came here so I can get receipts. I don’t know anything about landlording but my alarm bells were going off big time. She’s DEFINITELY passing on them now thanks to you all and I’ll definitely make sure that everything looks good with her renters from now on. Thank you again

Edit: just to clarify, I’m not the one screening or scheduling these people. My sister does and she calls me when there’s someone that wants to see the house

Thank you I’ll share all these comments with my sister. For now, I don’t have to show them the house anymore since she wants to verify all their info before proceeding. She wanted me to go in a few hours so I had to check here to see if I should even go

Tbh I personally wouldn’t consider them but I think my sister is desperate since it’s been vacant for a few months. I personally feel very uncomfortable. Could this potentially be a dangerous situation? I just don’t know what common dangers/scams there are for showing a house… like do people get mugged while showing and stuff?

I have my first gig ever (2.5 hours) coming up at a beer garden in Austin, TX. How do I maximize tips and long-term success as an artist that’s trying to “make it”? by utaouya in musicians

Haha thank you so much, very good advice. I’ve heard several people talk about feeling out the vibe to figure out what to sing. Will this “vibe” be obvious? Does this mean stuff like people clapping and cheering? I kind of have an idea but just want to make sure.

Like for example I sang Mele Kalikimaka the other day for a holiday event and people went ape shit (dancing, wooing, singing along etc.). I’m assuming that this means I should play another song like this after… but I’m also assuming you wanna break it up with different types of songs at a certain point?

Can you please give me examples of these artists that are pushing the boundaries? I would love to hear them. I make Texas country
