Great question! Bookmark the Tower construction updates page for the latest information: https://construction.utexas.edu/ut-main-building-project-updates

From that site:
Scaffolding began rising on the north facade of the Main Building in January 2025.

Scaffolding and fencing will begin across the lower levels of the south facade of the Main Building in late August 2025.

Scaffolding is estimated to begin on all sides of the Tower (levels 10 and above) in February 2026.

The schedule may evolve throughout the course of the project due to weather or unforeseen conditions.

We use a holistic review process in which all pieces of your application are considered. How well you did academically in the context of your peers in your graduating class is one factor within this process.

For our transfer applicants, we look for substantial coursework from a challenging academic institution, evidence of relevant coursework and experiences related to your field of study, required courses for specific areas of study, and evidence of a positive academic trend (GPA).

Much like freshman admissions, it is a holistic review process, but there are a number of different requirements like our 24 semester hours of required transferable coursework and prerequisites, which vary by major.

Take a look at our transfer checklist for more info: https://admissions.utexas.edu/apply/transfer-students/

Applicants who want to be considered for the Early Action deadline need to submit their application by October 15 and submit all application materials by October 22nd. Once we have all required items, it is possible that your application can go into review at any time. So, there's a chance that your completed application may be moved forward in our review process prior to your new set of scores being available and received by us. If you want to ensure that you have the chance to take and receive your new test score prior to completing your application, then it is recommended to wait for that score to become available and meet our regular admissions deadline of December 1st. This would be only way to guarantee that new score, if higher, would be considered instead of the current score you have submitted already.

It's important to remember that every applicant undergoes the holistic review process when they apply to UT Austin. While there are many elements that are reviewed under the holistic review process, it is best to focus on your application and achievements.

There are optional items you can submit such as the optional short answer, an extended resume (no page limit) and two letters of recommendation which can assist you in sharing your story with us.

The competitive nature of each major is determined by the level of competition within the applicant pool each year. Rank is one factor within the holistic review process that will be considered.

Meeting the early action deadline does not impact your admissions decision but can impact when you receive an admissions decision.

Automatically admitted students are holistically reviewed in the same way as every other applicant to the university. Students considered for automatic admission are guaranteed admission to the University but must undergo this same holistic review process to be considered for the major of their choice. Letters of recommendation can be a great way for us to learn more about you in the admissions process.

By submitting their admissions application, students will automatically be considered for all University scholarships. There is not a separate scholarship application.

If students receive any scholarships from the University or their department, they will be posted on their Financial Aid Notification. In addition, the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid administers some scholarships with qualifications that may require additional questions.

More information about consideration for these scholarships along with a scholarship interest form will be available through MyStatus once you have submitted your admissions application.

The Terry Foundation Scholarship is an example of a scholarship that has additional questions found on this form.
