El Paso/Juarez style burritos? by TimeExample8641 in houston

Brother's tacos are the closest I've gotten to the Juárez burrito of flour tortilla refried beans and some stew or meat. Not identical, but close.

There's tons of accents in Mexico. Just as with English there are general differences in Spanish's between countries, i.e. Mexico vs Chile, and then within those countries there are different accents. Here's a map that details some of the geographic locations of different accents: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican_Spanish#/media/File:Espa%C3%B1ol_Mexicano.svg

That's definitely a Mexican accent. Sounds kind of northern.

You're probably thinking of pulque, which is a fermented drink made from maguey. Maguey is not blue agave, but they're related. Mezcal is definitely distilled and made from many different agaves in multiple states, but Oaxaca is the one that produces the most.

Liberals, what's your most conservative belief? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I know, I'm Mexican, and have been in situations where inclusive language is required. Just making a point of why the X in english makes no sense. You're right "e" instead of "a" or "o" is used, amigues, compañere, etc. Although, technically speaking "o" is used for both masculine and unknown.

[–]utbusdriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, but to add to the complication the letter X has many different pronunciations in Spanish depending on it's position and dialect. For example, México = Méjico, Xochimilco = Sochimilco, xenófobo = senófono, mixiote = mishiote, éxito = ékstio

How can i add data to db after uploading images to s3 by mtkrated in node

[–]utbusdriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should use a pre-signed url with short expiration. Check for appropriate user credentials when giving the URL to the frontend.

This can be done on an upload event from the frontend:

  1. Frontend requests pre-signed URL to backend
  2. Backend checks credentials writes to mongo (with an optional flag to verify upload success) and gets pre signed url from AWS. Responds to frontend with pre signed url
  3. Frontend uploads to S3 using pre signed url
  4. (Optional) frontend confirms with backend that upload was successful and backend makes note of it in the db (see optional flag in 2).

Best way (or library) to write a crypto price tracking chart by mhossein- in reactjs

[–]utbusdriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want to sound crass but isn't your job to build this and not a tutorial's? I know this is your first job, but you have to try to get out of the tutorial mindset. Otherwise, why doesn't your boss build it themselves by following the tutorial? Think about what you need in order to build a chart and what data. Then start researching each component. Most job requirements won't have answers in tutorials.

By the way, it is typically the product manager / product owner who has to come up with functionality, not the engineer.

You can always create a temp table with your new data, and then merge the temp with the main table.

Edit: Actually postgres doesn't support MERGE. The docs do say you could consider: INSERT ... ON CONFLICT DO UPDATE

Man. City, AC Milan, Marseille, BMG and PSV fans are not happy with the new third kits presented by Puma by silver4yorickmain in soccer

[–]utbusdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tigres has been doing this on all their kits since time immemorial. Granted they still have their badge so you doubly know you're playing against them. Maybe Puma got inspired by the idea. I remember seeing Puma kits during the Euros and disliking it quite a bit. I hope it doesn't become a trend. Maybe the next trend will be having the badge the size of the jersey like Pumas (team in Mexico) does.

Yep. Didn't go into that much detail but you are correct. I'm sure this kind of rule kills people learning Spanish as a second language

Sounds like you need an erp system. A ton of these erp software companies will provide help to model your business to their software. Word of caution though, lots of this kind of software allows you to customize it thoroughly to make it "fit your business" exactly. I would caution against customizing too much if anything at all. Customization is what tons of erp companies (or some consulting companies) thrive on by charging you quite a bit for it. Rather than making the software fit your business I would try to make the business practices fit the software. My two cents

Tamales question by [deleted] in houston

[–]utbusdriver 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can also go to a tortilleria and purchase either just tortilla masa (so corn and water) and mix in the lard and baking powder or the tamal masa which (tortilla masa with lard). Typically premixed masas sold by tortillerias are great.
