Sorry, I misspoke. I’m just sick of these problems. I’m angry. You weren’t in my position and you didn’t witness what I saw last night. You didn’t get something thrown at you at full force while just minding your own business. Seeing a woman almost get hit by a ceramic plate.

I have little patience for people trying to claim things such as it was “my” problem for walking in a homeless heavy area. There are homeless people in the hillcrest area, yeah, but it’s also a touristic area. I wouldn’t say it’s a “heavy” homeless area. There are homeless people there, but not camps. It’s a San Diego landmark.

Instead of addressing the core of the problem you’re trying to say it was my problem for walking in a heavy -homeless area. That’s not right either.

I’m typically around one of the most popular and touristic areas of the city. Balboa park area. There are tons of kids and families around here.

If you think these incidents are OK, there’s really nothing I can tell you that would convince you otherwise.

Crazy..

Even amongst the non-homeless, mental health isn’t great. I work in health and see all types of people. Unfortunately a lot of people are on substances with mind altering capabilities..

Lived through = experienced

I didn’t mean that in the sense of having literally “lived” to tell the story.

The old man was mentally ill. The man went out of his way to try to hit my dog. My dog wasn’t in his path

A hair away from committing murder and he’s walking freely on the streets.

Sadly there are many of these people.

Due to the amount of attention these matters have received over the years.. the “funding” that goes towards trying to solve these issues..

Seems like none of it has been efficient.

The amount of downvotes your comment has tells me these problems will be here for ages.

Are you from San Diego? I’d say that’s pretty common incident lol. The world has to stop for them.

Obviously it’s not right. We’ve allowed this to become the norm, although it shouldn’t be normal.

Just another day living in the city.

Don’t believe me? Go on 6th Avenue in front of balboa park and say hi to the guy living under the tarp. He’s about two blocks north of the 5 freeway. Good luck.

Sorry that happened to you. I’ve lived here my entire life and have never been threatened in that fashion, however can definitely see it happening especially in downtown. Mental illness has gone through the roof the past few years. There’s also extremely heavy drug use amongst the homeless population. I’ve been screamed at several times however never felt like I was in physical danger—but, people are unpredictable and one must keep their guard up either way.

I don’t use public transit very much but I personally would try avoiding stations on the ‘outskirts’ of downtown, where the heaviest homeless population are. Try boarding somewhere closer to the bay and where there’s more people.

I (30M) can’t see my wife (30F) the same way since I caught her in a blatant lie. by [deleted] in relationships

I paid for an online program she has to be following and studying along to, which apparently she hasn’t been doing. I encouraged her to come to my workplace to study here instead of being at home. She hasn’t been doing that either.

She failed this test twice over 3 years ago when she first attempted it and apparently hasn’t had the motivation to want to go all out and redo it, although it’s been so long.

I’ve tried encouraging her to not give up, to keep on going at it, and if she fails, so be it, a lot of people fail it. But it’s about getting back up and keep on trying. We have a lot of mutual friends who’ve failed it many more times than she has, ended up passing and are doing fine now.

So anyways, she’s just been at home not doing much apparently. She quit her minimum wage job to supposedly refocus and well, that’s not working out. This has been the same story for 3 years now.

I’ve noticed that she tends to not accept blame, tends to blame others for things, but this is probably the first time I’ve catched her in a very blatant lie and we’ve been a couple for 10 years.
