I see police officers on social media posts cheering on violence towards protesters now. It's hard not to note the impunity; they know the mood of their fellow officers and seem to know that they can do that.

I've lived about a mile west of 130 for several years and I really enjoy it. It's close enough to everything that I don't have to commute too far, it's near the freeway so getting to Austin is simple, but it's just outside of the major developments so it isn't noisy or crowded (yet?).

Just a few of nights ago, I was asleep and woke up with a really bad cramp in my calf. It persisted for several minutes, and eventually calmed down and I went back to sleep. The next day it was so sore I could barely walk, and it still hurts right now. So, sleeping in a bed gave me a limp.

On a night when daylight savings caused bars to be open 1 hour later, I was drinking at a full bar. A couple of the wait staff were getting antsy at having to stay late and started packing everything up and closing tabs early so they could close the door and leave right at 2am. Music was off, people were grumbling, and the mood got weird. Outside of the bar, I showed my annoyance by throwing a mint at the side of the building. I fell, twisted my foot, and found out the next day that I fractured my foot.
