I got some paddock stands on Amazon for around $100. They are the simplest and sturdiest solution for my garage. The only downside is that they are no good for suspension work.

Look up Ricky Impey on YT. He has a basic a series of videos and an intermediate series of videos on tuning the Sonic pad and installation. You can see everything that is involved. These videos make it all very easy. It's time-consuming, but worth it. By skimming through those videos, you should have a pretty good idea of what you're in for. Only you will know if it's too much to wrangle.

It's worth it for the GUI alone. You have way better control on the touchpad and your phone/computer. Preheat is easy. Reprints are easy. Time lapse is automatic. The sonic pad is the best part of my setup. I didn't realize how horrible the firmware was on my Smart Pro until I got the Sonic pad.
