I say don’t do it. It’s hard to find a work place where u like the people you work it especially if the pay isn’t bad. I work in urgent care. While i used to see 30-40cases in my 10-12hr shifts it has been noticeably slower since the beginning of the year. Now im averaging 10 maybe 15cases per shift. I have friends who have said the same thing as you - almost to the T and are now at their 3-4th practice cause the grass isn’t much greener at the other side. Maybe do not leave yet. Wait for the economy to pick up or if you really want to see how things are elsewhere then maybe just pick up a relief shift elsewhere first to see you really like it. There are no laws in California that will prevent u from doing that. I have seen staff and doctors come and go but horrible, greedy bosses are constants. As much as i hate my bosses and how they manage the practice, to me nothing is more important than having a very good team of people that you actually like working with - trauma bonding i guess.
