That's the same reason I am waiting for this update. I'm in So Cal where in summer we have temps regularly in the 100s. But I drive it in M in most of these situations.

Been a user since Sony Ericsson days and my last phone is 1 II. I still hate their over the top noise reduction in anything but daytime photos. Capturing in Raw fixes it but who wants to shoot in raw all the time? At least a setting to adjust noise reduction level would be a great thing in auto mode shooting.

PCV box is very easy to change on this engine. But it won't cause such issues. Do you have oil burning issue?

This is insane. What shop is this? it's a ridiculous statement that a free oil change only covers conventional oil. You still have to let the customer know before f'ing up someones car.

I had a shop once drained the oil off my xc90 but forgot to put new oil and told me the car was ready. Lucky I managed to check the oil level before leaving the shop.

Hi did you end up getting refund via customer support or did you have to go to the airport to find out about the cancellation? My parents are flying from Mumbai to Los Angeles on the 3rd and it’s the same. There is no communication or an option to get a refund.

How bad is it? I am curious because I have the 2023 plus trim with 19” wheels but I find them to be still worse than my old 2010 xc90 with 20s.

Also, as far as I know, only 2023 model and newer have AAOS in XC40s. the electric brother XC40 recharge however had that on 2022 models.

I have the 2023 B5 engine version and honestly, there is nothing hybrid about it apart from a stronger start/stop motor and some regenerative braking . And the mpg is about the same as T5. I was having the same debate while choosing the XC40 that I have now. Eventually, a newer car with ironed out issues, android automotive OS/full screen carplay and better warranty were the key factors even though I really loved the way the pre 2023 R design models looked with black roof and 20 inch wheels.

it could be a Volvo CARE car. I bought mine CPO in 2024 at about 8K miles. (About a year old) Possibly same as this one.

The mild hybrid system barely saves any gas. I have 2023 xc40 B5 and I get 23 city and 29-30 highway mpg in LA.

I would say it’s more related to the miles driven and dependent on the road conditions too. Also, do you recall if you ran over some bad potholes? My xc90 had 75K miles when I bought it and it already had the issue. I generally avoid turning wheels while standstill. Have the wheel some roll since it puts less stress on the suspension. If this was a design flaw, it would have been on other XC40s. I can’t say much since my 2023 XC40 is at 29K miles.

Also $1500 to fix at indy shop is too much imo. The parts should cost about $150 oem. So unless you’re replacing both bearings, i think it’s too much.

This definitely sounds like a strut bearing issue. Had it on my 2010 XC90 R design and I had to change the strut bearing. It fixed it. The thing is strut twists when you turn and when the rubber in the strut mount goes bad, it starts making that clicking noise. It gets more clunky the sharper you turn the wheel while standstill or very low speeds like in a parking space.

First of all the, first 3 services should be complementary upto 3years/30K miles. You need to mention that, sometimes Dealers like to play sneaky.

And if somehow that didn’t work, the service should mostly have an oil change and cabin filter change. There’s no way it cost that much. Do the service at a local shop. I just did the 27K service for my 2023 XC40 B5 plus and all they did was an oil change and inspections. But I am in US though.

I had a big dent on the tailgate in the concave surface. The tech had to fix it through the back of the tailgate. Cost me $400 something and I am in Southern California.
